Decided to try this live bacteria for my gut problems,anyone else use this,any good does it improve gut health?

I juice 6 apples and a good piece of fresh ginger and have a shot of it everyday seems to keep heart burn away not had it for months now

Go on, I will give a serious reply,
Don’t know if Yakult is meant to aid digestion.
It got to the stage where I virtually needed to take an over the counter ant-acid after every meal due to reflux Started to drink a Yakult every day and now only need to take an ant-acids on the odd occasion I have a particularly spicy or tomato based meal.

Thanks for the serious reply mate,just out of interest do you take it at night or in the morning?,just want to get the best out of it I'm really suffering at the moment.

Acid reflux got really bad for me that I got prescribed one course of omneprazole. At the same time I got advised to have a Yakult each day and after a few weeks my indigestion started to really improve. I also tried to avoid some foods which really made it worse such (anything with pastry).
I don’t have a particular time when I drink one.
But for me a Yakult with an improved (not perfect) diet has really helped.

I used to get acid reflux really bad. I was told to stop eating white bread and try an alternative to cows milk. And like Dy1geo says anything with pastry will bring it on. Taking antacids for any length of time is not good for the gut, it’s better to change your diet.

Any yoghurt out there could legally be classed as “probiotic”.
If you vary your diet and make it healthier then any number of health benefits may arise.
The key to it isn’t necessarily yakult (which is essentially just a branded yoghurt drink with implied health benefits) but rather a healthy, varied diet that follows health guidelines including requisite fruit/veg and other dietary requirements.
So yes, Yakult *can* help but don’t view it as some kind of “medicinal” thing; it’s just a yoghurt drink with implied health benefits it the same way that lucozade used to be marketed as a “health drink” until advertising rules forced it to rebrand as a “sports drink”.
And you can get the same benefit drinking any non-branded alternative or just eating yoghurt.
In fact, plain cheap tesco value yoghurt will give you the same benefit minus only any placebo effect.

As Rowls said, a healthy diet without any crap should get you a healthy set of gut bacteria.
Something else good for stomach bacteria is sauerkraut - live sauerkraut, not pastuerized.
Polish shops may have it.
Whether it helps or hurts acid reflux I don't know.

On acid reflux, the usual things like losing weight and exercising help as well as avoiding acid foods. Raising the head of your bed also helps at night.
I had acid reflux and these things worked (I think I got it initially from sneezing). I would say it took three months to go completely and now I'm not concerned about it. I still have the head of the bed raised as there seem to be general benefits for this.

I don't have reflux, but don't have a proper top to my stomach and hence have chucked stuff up back into my mouth every day since I was born.
I don't suffer from heartburn because I have 50 years of knowing what to avoid eating.
There are some wierd things on my list of what to avoid, but in general, if it doesn't taste nice second time around, don't eat it.
I love pineapple and coconut, but they are on my bad list. I don't know if helps anyone out there, but also on my list to avoid are:-
Lamb
Cabbage, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, spring greens etc.
Cheap ice cream. Frozen yogurts are OK, green and blacks is good. Magnums and feasts out.
Wine
Chicory
Pepperami and similar.
Most sausages, burgers etc, purely because they have so much rubbish in them that comes back. "tesco finest" ha ha. Asda ans sainsbury are generally worse mind. Less than 10% fat doesn't mean its not full of gristle.
Anything containing coffee.
Lumps of fat.
Bacon and cured meat.
Smoked salmon and sushi
On the other hand, chicken, turkey, pork (fat removed), chocolate cake,, peas all taste good going both ways!!

Quite simply a change of diet will vastly improve gut problems.
Switching to more of plant based diet changes the types of bacteria within the gut and I can totally say it makes a vast improvement. Regular, no bloating, no heart burn etc, nor grogginess.
Not saying give up meat, cut down a bit and eat freshly prepared food, with fresh ingredients.
Yakult won’t solve any long term issues.

Fage Greek yoghurt is excellent (not Greek style) for the gut. Add Greek honey or garlic (tzatziki) & you have natural probiotic & antibiotics. There’s a very good reason that these combinations have been around for three thousand years.

As mentioned above, regular yoghurt will do the trick if it's good bacteria you're after. Don't bother with Yakult etc.
However, it's MUCH more effective if it's FULL FAT yoghurt as the fat protects the bacteria against the hydrochloric acid in your stomach and allows the bacteria to get to your gut. Sauerkraut and low fat yoghurt has little effect as the bacteria is destroyed before it gets to where it needs to be.

Sauerkraut in isolation maybe - I don't know - but I put it in salads which usually have some fat in it from meat or the dressing.
