There is quite a cry for Charlie Taylor to come back, but I think he has performed well since the first game

I like Taylor, and he came on strongly last season replacing Ward, however Peters has a much better cross and assisted a number of goals. Two brilliant ciosses today-both should have been goals. He also has a bit of steel about him and sticks close to wide men

Pieters.

I'd stick with him but he will have to cut out the odd bit of potentially damaging slack work. His positives far outweigh the negatives.

Just posted on the ratings thread that he is 3rd in the fantasy league for defenders above Virgil and Robertson for Liverpool.

He was poor on the first goal today but should have had 2 assists. I’d have that from my left back every game...

Put in a great ball against Southampton and as you say two great balls today but wouldn't say we've seen a lot of decent balls from him in the games inbetween, for me Taylor has a better delivery. Think a few turned on him today because unfortunately he didn't stick close to the wide men at all which was why both the goals came from his side. Don't think he has done a massive amount wrong overall but for me Taylor is a better player.

So why did we score 1 goal from a Taylor delivery all last season then, if he has such good delivery. It’s nonsense. When was he 3rd in fantasy points....

Must disagree about Tayors delivery being better. I was at the Leicester game when he pulled back a low cross for Dwight to score but that was maybe his only assist. Having said that he is a pretty calm defender and few wide players gave him a hard time
Peters is a hard cookie, and personally think he suits our style of play. He has very cultured left foot

He was giving his mam far too much space.

He did get exposed a few times but that wasn't only his fault. The midfield weren't covering as well, particularly first half before Dyche changed it and that made it easy for Grealish etc to slip balls in behind our full backs.

It seemed like Villa were targeting him in the first half, all the trouble was coming down his side. Nowhere near his man when he put the cross in for the second goal either. I've still not seen anything to suggest he's better than Taylor, but that's just my opinion.

He's suspect defensively.

Taylor needs to come back in but Dyche being Dyche, we know that won't happen.

Must be fairly demoralising being one of the stand out players in a dismal season and finding yourself dropped for no good reason.

Brilliant last week awful today. He’s done well but the better left back is on the bench

Hibsclaret has resorted to his argument being based on fantasy football stats. Christ. I know he hates Taylor but this is taking the biscuit.

It looked like he gave too much space for the first goal but he was leaving so much space that it made me think he probably had instructions to stay narrow and allow the cross.

Pieters played well.

You stand your best chance of winning when you play your best 11.

Aaid it last year with the whole Heaton v Hart, and I'll say it again this year. Charlie Taylor is the best left back we have.

Who hates Taylor not me....when he’s back on the bench I’ll support him as I did in the second part of last season. You get fantasy points for creating goals. It also helps the team get points. Dyche mentioned his ball today and I don’t remember him mentioning a Taylor assist all last season. There is no argument as Dyche seems to have made his choice...

Doesn't necesarrily mean it's the right choice. I seem to recall Dyche playing Ben Mee out of position there for 6 months while we had the best left back in the league sat on the bench.

He doesn’t make many bad choices. How many years ago was the Ben Mee stuff you refer to? I would suggest Dyche has improved as a manger immeasurably since then

Both full backs were told to play very narrow. In the first half they gave us huge problems down Lowton's side too-the disallowed goal came this way
Pieters is keeping his place on merit-just like Bardsley mid season last year was doing the same. That's why we generally have two in each position

Taylor wasn't dropped for no reason was he?
He was injured at the start of the season I thought?

We are mid table, doing alright and Pieters hasn't really had a mare from what I've read on here or seen on TV, so he doesn't really deserve to be dropped as yet.

I actually think that Peiters has a better end product when compared with Taylor. His player rating today though is really tough to mark!
