Marco Silva:
saying it's particularly embarrasing considering the effort they put into recruiting him!

one Everton fan:
'...How on earth is he still here? What kind of message is that? Is it acceptable from Everton board to be 17th after playing the likes of Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Watford, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Burnley?...'

He’s a young manager still finding his way!

Everton v Burnley 2017:

following a one-nil defeat to the Clarets.

Who scored the goal against the Toffees that day...Jeff Hendrick! :D

Everton slipped into the bottom three and Ronald Koeman was dispensed with.

They have now finished the day in 17th - is it now deja-vu time with the club looking towards another change?

The problem Everton fans have with Silva isnt just the results. It's the post match interviews which are exactly the same every single time they lose. It's as if he is the only one who cant see it.
He thinks Everton were unlucky, the fans know that they weren't. If your team play shite, you should have the common sense to just hold your hand up and admit it. If you cant see the problem how can you fix it.It's a fault that a lot of other managers share.
I think hes done for it's just a race to see if he quits before he is sacked.

There will already be some "recruitment" going on behind the scenes I guess. But my worry (like a lot of others) is that Everton see SD as a great fit.

Can't believe he tried to question the Coleman red on his MOTD interview!

We get this all the time when we beat one of the "bigger" clubs. "It's not just that we lost, but that we lost to.....shitty BURNLEY, or crappy Crystal Palace or championship upstarts Sheffield Utd!!!!" Well maybe they should look at the table and see where shitty Burnley and Crappy Palace are placed. They aren't placed there because of ONE scabby result. Teams like Everton do not have a divine right to simply turn up and roll teams like us over and the fans need to be more magnanimous sometimes. I know I wouldn't bracket them with those "bigger" clubs, but Norwich fans for example were a breath of fresh air!

Hopefully they'll decide he doesn't play the Everton way!

Strange club allround. Sign plenty of very good players and turn them into average players.
I can’t think of anybody, apart from kids, who have moved there and improved themselves.
Wenger had a similar problem at Arsenal.

Well I know he'd soon get rid of those 2 utterly lazy feckers Richarlison and Sigurdson (SP). They'd be nowhere near an SD team!!

Dobbo, Fred Pickering, Trevor Steven, Dave Thomas and a certain centre forward from us but that was decades ago.

Good list but I don’t think any of them improved except Trevor and he was still 19 when he signed for them.

I saw big fat sam talking about them the other week and he said on the face of it, having spent a lot of money, he thought he'd have a decent squad when he went in there. He said the problem was they'd signed 7 or 8 of the same type of player - number 10s he called them - and so they were badly lacking everywhere else.

Not sure about Lukaku, he was always a goalscorer.
I’ll give you Gueye. Signed for £7m, on a built into contract deal, sold for £30m.

That's why they signed Delph but he hasn't been great for them so far. Amazing how playing for a better team can make you look good whilst you play for a struggling one you can look crap.

Don't have a problem at all with Everton fans unlike some others. Always seem to grounded and a genuine bunch who respect our history much the same as their own. Probably because of player links in the past.

All clubs have some whoppers though and their opinions tend to be the easiest to find so it's no surprise that all fans are tarred with the same brush.

Very true, but I think unlike some other clubs their lack of recent success means they have avoided recent glory supporters that many other teams have been blessed with.

To support your club based on your family and what you grew up rather than results or fashion usually means you are a lot more grounded and reasonable than say you're a Brighton (Manchester United) fan who started to go to games again because a new stadium was built.

And Everton may be a bigger club than we are, but they are not a fashionable one and generally will be frustrated they can't take advantage of when some of the top 6 fail in recent seasons.

Pish pot club are Everton spent loads and win feck all for over 30 years.
One good thing I can say about them is that their fan base is more or less pure scouse, unlike their glory hunting neighbours who come from all corners of the globe

I do like that forum’s layout. A thread for each player for the season. A thread for the manager. A thread for each fixture. Huge volume of traffic. Very impressive.

There was a very amiable Everton fan who had positioned himself next to the coaches on Harry Potts way, and stopped to shake hands with as many passing Burnley fans as possible, letting us know that the best team won and we deserved it. Had a similar experience chatting with the locals after we won there 1-0 two seasons ago. Generally great fans in my experience, and certainly my favourite club of the established Premier League sides.

I'm next to the away fans in the cfs and the everton fans near us got very irate when they went down to 10 men. One of them took his jacket off and tried explaining he could buy a house in Burnley with what he paid for it. Another one kept spitting everywhere like a child.
Thourghly enjoyed it when we scored against them
