Rather delicious for a "Southern" brew.

Going to be missing for a while.... off on a Canaries Cruise.....

Play nicely while I'm away ;)

I've missed a few nights myself after drinking 49er. On draught in Christchurch ( the Dorset one).

I've got a bottle of Saltaire Blond in the corner but I'm going out, if only to try and get away from myself! :-)

3.8%? Bit weak. Surely we deserve something stronger.

Judge beer on taste not strength.

Enjoy your cruise Bosscat. Hope you are not sailing all the way! Bay of Biscay might get you!

Did that cruise a year ago and booked a week in Madiera, in January, on the strength of it.

Try this walk from Slaidburn around Stocks Reservoir and you will be rewarded by an excellent pint of White Witch at one of the oldest pubs in the UK, The Hark to Bounty.

I'm not sure if this is one of their regular real ales but it was available yesterday and was most excellent :-)

All of the moorhouse beers are quality.

White witch very enjoyable
Pendle witches brew good but a strong taste
The new ice witch that's ready to hit the shelves soon is also very tasty

Favourite of mine is one of there newer beers Scaredy Cat

Great stuff. Botanical gardens and indoor market. There is always Ronaldo's museum of course.
Don't forget to swig the Madeira! (In a refined manner, of course!)

My grandad worked for Moorhouses many many years ago. Anybody know what year the brewery was established?

Healeywood the brewery was founded in 1865 by local burnley lad William Moorhouse building his own brewery in 1870, Top bloke then, top bloke now!

Easily found
https://www.moorhouses.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Once upon a misty morning
In 1865, William Moorhouse, a local Burnley lad, founded the brewery. He took great pride in his home town and his craft, originally producing mineral waters. In 1870, he built his own brewery, producing renowned beers, including his low alcohol Hop Bitters for the temperance bars across the North West.

Rejuvenation
Hard times hit in 1985 and Bill Parkinson, a local man passionate about beer, was sipping a pint of Pendle Witches Brew one day, when he heard of the plight of the brewery. He bought it, invested in a new brew plant and the rest is history. With many twists and turns along the way, we have embraced the traditions, values and entrepreneurial spirit of our founder ready for exciting times ahead.

Moorhouses right? Good brewery, but I prefer Pride of Pendle. I also like saying 'Pint of Pride please'; it makes me feel proud... of being from Pendle.
