This isn't the best song in in the world, but it's a tribute:

Across the Borderline - Ry Cooder from the 'Get Rhythm' album,
not to be confused by 'Borderline' from his album of the same name.

I love all different music but this is probably the hardest question you could ever do someone as I find the “best” thing isn’t always the actual best but you relate it to a moment which makes it the best.

For me it has to be from a good few years ago now whilst on a dance floor under the influence and this “CHOOON” got played - the moment was the best for a song and it always sticks in my memory. It isn’t the “best song ever” but the moment was perfect imo.

Can't be answered unless you've only ever heard two songs, but something about I Spy by Pulp does it for me big time.

Anyhow, there's lots I could vote for here. Today I'll go for these but it might be completely different tomorrow.
Perfect water by blue oyster cult
Red tide by rush
The dead man's dream by the church
Of course, to sing/play produces a different list completely. In my former life I particularly liked lots of stuff by Herbert Howells, Britten and (more embarrassingly as its really not great musically but was great fun) Blair in A.

Straight to Hell - The Clash

Any num... i'm sure you get me...
