Absolutely awful, thoughts are with the player tonight.
Stupidly I looked at some pictures of the incident, I’d highly recommend that you don’t.
Easy to see why the players were in such a state. I don’t know how they played on.

Feel for the bloke, fortunately, as daft as it sounds, it's much easier to come back from a (clean) break than ligament/tendon ruptures...
Hope he comes back strong

He will be back in 12 weeks. ACL injury is like 36 weeks. Horrific injury at the time but can be easy to sort

Considering his ankle was turned clockwise 90 degrees I'd be surprised if his ankle ligaments aren't torn to shreds.

Haven't seen it yet. Is it something like the David Busst
injury? That was very bad.
Or worse?

I’m no doctor but I’m sure he won’t be back in 12 weeks.

The injury Seamus Coleman suffered was horrific and he's made a fully recovery. His leg snapped in two!

Guessing that is your age in your name if you think he will be back in 12 weeks

I was going to post exactly the same word for word.
You don’t need to be a medical professional to know that his season is over.

You knew how bad it was without seeing the impact. Just seeing the faces in the crowd and on the pitch.
You could actually see it at first on sky sports when he was led there. Totally weirded me out. No idea why anyone would purposely watch that back mind.

There`s more chance of me playing for Everton this season than Gomes...

The reaction of Son and all the other players told its own story.
I hope Gomes is able to fully recover.

It will be 12 months before he plays competitively again I suspect...but all the very best to the lad and to Son and Aurier who must be devastated even though it was a pure accident.

Not to back track but my comment was in response to coolclaret and was meant to say 12 months not 12 weeks.

Son must feel awful as I actually think he kicked out at him on purpose, having been hit by Gomes's arm a few minutes earlier. The injury wasn't caused directly by Son, whose kick wasn't violet, but the subsequent fall which led to the horrible collision with Aurier.
I could be way off the mark here. Maybe Son was genuinely trying to tackle him fairly but, if that's the case, it was highly coincidental timing after the previous altercation.
