just have a look at the replay around 55 seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COIGsRMo-lY

No excuse to be that poor, particularly disappointed with Hendrick's lack of effort but they were all dreadful - that goal is very poor one for us

I thought Lowtons half arsed challenge was the pick of the bunch for that goal but the way Son ran through our team took me back to the early days of Kick Off and Sensible Soccer

Mate, stick it in the match thread. Starting a new thread for every minor incident is why this place is in such a mess. I despair with some internet warriors sometimes.

TBF to Lowton he was already on a yellow. It's Pieters or McMeil who should have taken one for the team.

Don't think I dare watch it again. It looked bad enough live.

Get use to watching it,it'll probably be shown for sometime to come and could well end up being goal of the season. :x

Hope it's not going to become like that Eddie Gray goal against us they always show.

If you watch it back it is certainly McNeil who should have taken one for the team on this goal. McNeil needs to improve on his defending decisions in these sort of situations. Beyond that he was our best player by far though.

Lowton had already had a yellow and was the one player who couldn't foul him for that reason, but the others, probably chiefly Pieters, had plenty of chance. It was actually OUR free kick FF!! When he scored I almost burst out laughing!! It was THAT embarrassing!

No doubt that Jeff Hendrick 'jogging' back almost put Son off....

Not just that goal but we backed off into our penalty area every time they ran at us. At some point you have to front them up and make them make a decision. Terrible defending all day.

apart from being applauded for being able to run from his area to ours, he only went past 2 of our players, the rest were just caught in his slipstream as he sauntered along without a care in the world.

and yes, its spurs, therefore it will be shown endlessly .

Tarks should have stopped him in their box. Incidentally what was tarks actually doing there.

Kanes goal was no better defending tbh.

It was clear from the big screen replays that Hendrick did not do enough and should have got in a position to take Son out or get a challenge in, a few others Lowton excepted could also have taken one for the team.

This goal shows how much we need a defensive midfielder to protect the backline, there's no way Son should be allowed to run 70 yards without a challenge/tactical foul being made, naivety at best and lack of effort at worst.summed up the 90 minutes,we threw the towel in after 10 minutes, that's unacceptable at any level.

Seen it back and it was McNeil not Lowton who made the pathetic attempt of a tackle I was on about so he now wins 1st prize for me

On Friday, I asked for:
A decent performance for the travelling fans (didn't get it)
No yellow cards to 'key players'.
No injuries.
We all knew that we were likely to get a good hiding, so no shocks there. Perhaps Dyche told them "And remember lads don't start taking 'one for the team' " if so I would back him.

If you’d have been at the stadium you’d have seen it on the big screens and come to that conclusion much earlier, perhaps even yesterday as most of us did.

Tbh McNeil is largely to blame for not fouling Son for the 3rd and for poor control on the first.

He was brilliant after that though

Tarks was in their box for OUR free kick and it actually wasn't that bad a free kick tbh and went pretty much straight to him, but he failed to gather it and control it and the rest is (allegedly  ) goal of the f'ing season!!

As much as I like Son, he's not Maradona.

Tarks had his shirt pulled at the free kick and lost valuable time rightly complaining to the ref. Whether it made any difference is anyone’s guess.

When a player camn dribble faster than any of our players can run 50 metres there's something very wrong.

Is “taking one for the team” any different from “cynically fouling an opponent whose skill and speed makes us look amateurish “?
Just asking...

Dyche mentions it in his post match interview, clearly disappointed nobody committed a tactical foul - labelled us naive

Reminiscent of Terry Butchers non tackle on cheat Maradona
9 yr olds put in more tackles at half time in home games

After 4 consecutive seasons in the PL, being naive doesn't wash I'm afraid.

I have looked at the replay several times and had Pieters been properly moving he was in a perfect position to take the ball cleanly, without the need to 'take one for the team. Trouble is,no right foot, although, I'm sure I will be reminded of his right footed 'spooned' clearance which became an assist against Southampton. If Dyche played him so that he could rest Taylor for this Saturday, then I am ok with that.
