Scrappy crappy game where we came out on top. CFS outsinging the Geordies second half. Reminded me of the old days shocking weather backs against the wall but we found a way to win.

If I could have just turned up for the goal and nothing else, then I would have done.

"Loved it" is a stretch. The first half was poor, but the second half provided entertainment - not of the silky skills type, though!

Was a strange one as kind of game you cant be arsed with. But strangely the fans were in great form and made a huge difference second half!

Aye
Days like today are a real chore, but like all chores it needs to be done.
I just wish that I could stand in the old Longside on days like these. Warm as toast and enough silliness going on to take your mind off the game if you need it.

As someone who was sat close to the Bob Lord/Jimmy Mac corner flag, I wouldnβt say our fans in the CFS stand had a very good day when it came to comparisons with the away support. That said we did have a few good moments , but not many.

Well even MOTD picked us up today. Which is a first.
Newcastle did travel in numbers though.

Like this thread ,some proper clarets praising us in the Premier league
So much doom and gloom with clowns saying we are just Hoof ball
Wonder just how many 'doom n Gloomers' seen us in the fourth division ?

Not pretty but I do wonder why some people can't enjoy a win for what it was. We matched them player for player. That's what football is about.
I can appreciate a passing game, too.

If you're going to watch a winter based sport in the north of England you're going to get more than your share of days like yesterday. Weather very poor, awful to play in and to sit watching in, plus two fairly evenly matched teams and somewhat attritional. Not exactly pretty! If you're not used to it at The Turf by now you really are a newby. It's called supporting your team and if you don't like getting cold and wet to watch your team, especially in the (allegedly) best league in the world, then subscribe to Amazon and join all those "supporters" in the far East who sit in their armchairs wearing Man City and Chelsea shirts, because they only ever support winners and champions who are smashing everybody else out of sight and they don't like leaving their living rooms in case it's bit chilly. In short, I loved it too yesterday!!!

I like proper clarets, those that weren't there from the 4th division days don't know how good they have it.
You should support your team through thick and thin, if you can't even hack the thick, you're in trouble.
They'll most probably be premier league fans or glory hunters , you should always support your local team and community...β¦.. oh wait..

Good topic; I really love these 'war of attrition' games and they need lousy conditions in which to play them. Oh, and as long as we win.

I watched it in the Far East in a bar, loudly.

Well, its not every day you see pints fill up from the bottom.
We were like Amazonian tribesmen pointing at aeroplanes.
