No shots on target

I just read Newcastle didn't have a single shot on target on Saturday, and that it was the first time ever for a team against us in the Prem. Just shows how bad they were, or at least how bad the weather was.

Someone mentioned it's the first time in over 200 games that Newcastle have failed to have a shot on target.

How about it shows just how good we were at defending all situations !!!
I'm sick and tired of hearing that it's how poor the other side has been, and not how good we've been.
Let's have a bit of recognition for our good work, for crying out loud.

And yet the player ratings are full of 4s and 5s for parts of our defence.......

Daily Telegraph said they've had zero shots on target, three times this season. At least, I think they did - one of us might have got that wrong!

Highlights just how shite Newcastle were.
Carroll and Gayle both missed reasonable chances, the fact they missed the target completely was appalling.
I'd expect Barnes/Wood to have bagged one if not both of those chances

This is why Newcastle will be in the mix for relegation, the stats for their front players are appalling and they rely on centre backs and midfield players to get the goals, that will not continue. Similar story for Villa in some respects as Wesley is a lummox who isn't of Premier League standard.

Those 4s and 5s are, obviously, posted by people who didn't see the game.

Not me - the person who mentioned it was wrong.
I did look at their passing % and it was equally as shocking as ours this season.

Short memory macca... wood as missed a gaping net more than once this season.

That's correct. They've failed to register a shot on target in their away games at Leicester, Chelsea & Burnley.

I think by parts of our defense you mean our full backs. Gayle missed a gilt edged chance courtesy of Pieters getting skinned again. Personally I think he is a weak link even as a back up for Taylor.
Question about our rating marks. 6 is listed as average. Does that mean average for that particular player or average compared to other PL players in the same position?

Not necessarily tbh. Just ones with agendas against certain players...

I think you need a new tv. Pieters was hardly skinned, anything but, he got to the ball first before being fouled by Joelinton.

If Gayle had scored, it would have gone to VAR. It was a blatant shove in the back, not shoulder to shoulder, and not a coming together, Joelinton went for Pieters, he'd given up going for the ball when he hit him. I'd rather have Charlie in, but I've been really impressed with Pieters, especially at the price we got him for. He's more than adequate cover. The fact you think he was skinned, just shows you have an agenda against him.

Their stats are dire, apart from Shelvey who's netted 5,their next highest is 2,and that's from their defenders, their non scoring forwards are a joke.

No agenda. I just think he is inferior to Taylor.
