No, there's no pay on the gate. And generally no, it doesn't exist anymore.

Thats the only good thing about past Boxing Days you could easily get tickets to take family and mates on.
I watched Everton demolish Sheff Wed with Linacre scoring four with Evertonian mates and Burnley v Blackpool with a starring role for a young Trevor Sinclair with the same mates at the Turf .The gate was 18,000

Only found out I could go today and take the lad so a shame really, tickets went on general sale so probably not a sell out.

Yeah it's a bit of a shame. Can remember making a last minute decision and turning up at places like Boro and Barnsley on previous Boxing day games.

Yes it is a sell-out, as we only took the lower tier.

I would have gone but only found out I was free on Xmas eve.

Not got a ticket though so won't be going but would be if we could pay on the gate.

So all that mud that was thrown at the club for only taking the lower allocation, and yet again it appears they’ve made the correct decision?

I'll be the first to criticise the club but for this game they gave us the opportunity to order in advance to determine whether they should go for the second allocation. It's a policy other smaller clubs have used in the Premier League regularly. The take up was nowhere near and I don't think the club had any option but to make the decision they did.

Boundary Clarets have a spare ticket going if you ring them.

All a bit of a mess really. I went to Everton last year, it wasn't a great game, ground isn't the best to get to, the facilities (I was upper tier last year but have done both the bottom and middle tiers which are worse) are appalling. I wasn't planning on going this year.

However, this year we had a pre sale of ticket in late Nov which wasn't greatly advertised, to season ticket holders only, which closed early in Dec, before many people wouls know if they working, or what their arrangements might be. At the end of this period we had only restricted view tickets left, which people won't buy, hoping the upper tier comes available. Many people hold back anyway hoping the upper tier come free. Then we made a decision to only take the lower tiers becuase of this. Everton would charge us for all those tickets as they know they can sell them to home fans. So we didn't take the punt on that. I think we'd have sold them all anyway, but hey, it is what it is.
