... that after not getting an ST this season, I’m not really tempted to change that this summer. That was an awful show of Football, today. Win, lose, or draw, we’re generally awful to behold.

O well aren’t you brilliant.

You sound like you want a medal!!
I personally can’t wait to be supporting the mighty Clarets on the Turf on Saturday. Hope your Saturday night is well exciting

More exciting than 20% possession and looking at the sky for 90 minutes.

We’ll continue to get results with Dyche at the helm. It’s just not particularly entertaining and the defeats, when they come, are a tough watch.

As I live in the South East I do not get to many games. My Son and I made the mistake of coming up for the Chelsea match which was a strange one and not particularly enjoyable. Anyway we had previously been to Arsenal and Brighton so only seen us draw. Thought we didn't do too badly at Arsenal, but didn't realise at the time how poor they were. Brighton was awful.
Anyway as it is the Xmas season got a card from my cousin in Yarkshire who said that he had managed to get across to Burnley for a few games but it was dire stuff.
I think people are just getting a bit fed up with Dycheball.

The failure to recruit young talent over the past three years is the saddest part of this club, it is the young players coming through who bring hope.

So, to avoid Dycheball, what would you suggest? Give all the players a blood transfusion in an attempt to give them 5 yards extra pace ? Etc. Etc. We play to our strengths. it is impossible to play to strengths you do not have....

Our players are capable of passing the ball to each other. They wouldn't have made it so far in their careers if they were not.
They are being coached to play one way - hoof it as far as you can into a channel and hope someone will run on to it. Our players are being badly let down by very poor coaching.

If our players are being let down by very poor coaching then they wouldn't all, pretty much to a man, be playing at the highest level of their career. It's stupid comments like this that get shot down.

Forgive me Riley, I just wanted to see some semblance of a shot today, even if it was my own comment on the receiving end.
With regards to my post, I believe they are being badly coached in terms of passing the ball and it's making them all look totally incompetent. They don't look like they know how to pass to each other, and of course they clearly do or they wouldn't have become professionals.
They are being well coached in terms of resilience etc, but they needn't necessarily have become footballers to be well versed in that area.

I think the next window could well sway the next batch of fans still undecided on next season.
I personally cant see the direction we are wanting to go in, in both players and playing style, but think the next 2 windows should show the plan.
ÌF Mr Dyche still recruits ageing do a jobs, and theres not much in terms if youth, flair or creativity brought in I can see a fairly large fan drop off.
People say being entertained isnt a factor in supporting your team, but I think it is.
I'm not sure any way fan had anything to get excited at or cheer today, and youd be hard pressed to find anyone who enjoyed any part of that game.
It's often not sometimes the loss that hurts, it's the way you lose.
Give me a 3-2 or 4-3 ding dong defeat over a 1-0 like today every single time.
But as we all know 17th is the aim and Mr Dyche's approach, tactics and style will get you that 9 out of 10 seasons.

Other than picking him in the first place not sure how Dyche can be blamed for Brady not being able to pass a ball 2 yards and trying to play the impossible killer ball every f’in time.
I agree we do need some rebuilding at the club though - loads of players not good enough who do not deserve a new contract or will be choosing to leave. I’d take us scraping survival this year with awful football as long as we start the process of building for the future in the next 2 or 3 transfer windows.
I don’t believe that Dyche does not want his team to play more football - that does not mean I agree with all his decisions and tactics by any means whatsoever- but that it is more complicated than just saying he sends his teams to go out and play like we did today every week.
You can keep it tight, play 2 banks of four and still play well - as we have proven many many times. But if your key players in midfield and upfront play poorly what can you do ?
In this league they have to over perform to their ability if we are to stand any chance.
If they play to their ability and we get lucky or our defence is brilliant then we can pick up wins - that’s what we often do.
If we under perform - like today - then you are relying on the other team missing loads of chances or Pope and the defence being heroes - and this is what nearly happened today because I thought our keeper and defence were all brilliant today but that nobody else in the team played well.

I wanted to see some semblance of a shot today too. I'm very unhappy with how we played today but I am grounded enough to realise that you can't play well and win every week. Following a football team is full of disappointments so there is no need to over-exaggerate when things don't go your way.
And there's no point whatsoever in making ridiculous comments like our players receive very poor coaching when the results that the coaches are measured by suggest entirely the opposite.

Oh come on, we hardly ever play well. We win, but we win very ugly more often than not.
I don't think it is ridiculous. Do you think our players are well-coached when it comes to passing, invention, creativity? I've said they are well coached in other areas, but on the technical side of the game? Not for me.

I disagree, we play well fairly often. We've gone through a couple of months without playing well often enough but that's not to say we hardly ever do. Again, it smacks of a knee-jerk reaction. Remember the most recent couple of performances and totally forget the occasions where we have played well and in some cases blown away the opposition.

Not about being knee-jerk, I've thought and said the same for a long time. I don't like the football we play. It's mostly rubbish.
Stupid, ridiculous, preposterous, knee-jerk; call my view whatever you feel is appropriate, but it won't change the fact I want to see us be technically much better much more often.

Even though we are in a better spot than this time last year I am finding this the most unenjoyable season under Dyche. I’m not sure why this is the case, maybe the cumulative effect.
We have no pace, when have the chance to break we slow it down and then it just goes back to the keeper for a long ball.
It’s really painful at times. Even when we win it isn’t massively enjoyable

With the exception of Sheff Utd, who are ripping it up this year, I don’t see too many other sides playing attractive winning football outside of the top four. Two of those that do try and pass it around neatly, Norwich and Villa, are currently in the bottom three because they are too open and can’t defend. I don’t particularly like how we play but accept that with our resources it is a necessary evil to get results.

Let’s be honest, we’ve become way more dependent on whipping it into the big men up front this season than ever before. We’re more one dimensional than ever before. And I put that down to recruitment once again.

Not speaking for myself here, but I do feel like the allure of us being in the Premier League is rapidly fading for many. Partly because of the style of play maybe, but mostly because of our complete lack of competitiveness in games against the “big 6”

1. It’s not just Brady and it’s not just 1 game.
2. We played awful football in the Championship when we had arguably the strongest side on paper in the league and one of the highest wage bills.
This isn’t just a “we can’t compete financially so let’s try scrape results” thing, it’s quite clearly Dyches way of playing, love it or hate it, let’s call a spade, a spade.
The excuses others make of needing billions to play decent football makes no sense, Sheffield United, Us under Coyle. People say “well we don’t have the players to play attractive football” let me remind you, Dyche signed these players.

I don't think anyone could dispute we are hard to breakdown, defensively we are really really good, but we seriously lack creativity and the ability to play anything other than route 1 football. Mcneil even going backwards with every pass today.
