No it doesnt serve food.

The miners round the corner has a little cafe operating but its basic stuff like pie and peas, chip buttys etc.

Depends what you're wanting to eat and what quality

Try the Brun Lea pub, just down Manchester Road from the station.

Right opposite Manchester Road station is a pub called The Star. Nice people good food excellent breakfast at weekends and a carvery from 12 o’clock. I will be there for food and a beer or two before the match. It’s a family pub and quite a few supporters home and away get in there. Wherever you go Torben, enjoy the day.

If you want BBQ food, continentals is the place to go. Always smells lovely when walking past.

It's half way to the ground from the station behind the big hotel you see as you walk down the hill.

Try the mechanics on the bottom of Manchester Road part of the town hall complex, good food alcohol available and I never wait long for food. Does a great fish and chips.

Continentals is excellent, I'd opt for that unless as you say a chippy is preferred, then you can collect your ticket and go to either Park View or Lyndhurst road.

If Lyndhurst road is like Ighten leigh fish bar then the portions are massive, but the curry and gravy is crap :(

I wouldn't feed my dog that cinema pub food, it's all pre packed generic crap that's frozen, reheated or microwaved. IMO of course

Where ever you go it'll be half as busy as a standard match day due to being a cup game

I’m with Macca, wouldn't eat in there at gun point it’s horrific. It’s even worse that sycamore farm by quite some distance

Can’t believe people are recommending The Star. It’s been hard to find a worse place to eat in Burnley for the last 15 years than this hole and whatever it’s been called previously....it’s awful

Is The Star a Brewers Fayre pub? I've not been in for a few years but I do remember several friends saying the food was horrible, but it may have improved.

If it is a Brewers Fayre pub they tend to be all standard ping food.

I used to nip in before a Lowerhouse game because they have some decent beers on, its always busy, especially Sundays.

Probably sound like a bit of a snob but it all depends on what sort of food you have been brought up on, as kids we never got to go to the pubs with play areas (wacky warehouse type) and it drove me mad, my Dad would just say I'm not eating that shite they serve in there. We didn't eat burgers, chips etc at home, even though that's what we wanted to eat

They brought me my main course and the big greasy thumb print the waiter left on my plate turned my stomach the food was horrendous, funny enough we have never been back and given it a second chance.

Thinking about it, Torben.

You would be better off upgrading your match ticket to a corporate one for the day.
If you're not a Season Ticket holder you will be paying £20 and for £59 pound you get a meal, premium seating and get to meet the man of the match.
Plus extras that will make the matchday experience a lot better.

Thanks for all the replies.
It looks i will be spoilt for choice,if my train arrives in time 😁.
The hospitality offer is a good price but i prefer to sit behind the goal.
Lookin forward to my trip.

Another vote here for The Star! It used to be absolutely dreadful when it was called the Hollywood Star, but it’s been taken over by Greene King and it’s very good now. Don’t expect gourmet dining, but as far as basic pub grub goes, it’s up there.
