Wilder:
'...There is a bit of a pecking order but they must be really good goalkeepers getting in ahead of him...'
'...If there is a better goalkeeper in the world at the moment I have not seen one...'

Sheffield Utd fans last night:
'...England's number one, England's, England's number one...'

Henderson is a fine goalkeeper. Also Ramsdale has the potential.
Nick Pope has made a few errors this season, as do most 'keepers.
With Southgate's preference for young players NP's days could be numbered :D

We see it through claret glasses, if you look at Henderson’s record over the last two seasons you can see why the suggestion is made. I’d prefer Pope but there won’t be much between them.

But modern football has changed things a bit.

It seems that how a keeper passes a ball is just as important as the saves they make.
Likewise, fullbacks don't have to be good at defending as long as they are good at attacking.

That's why Pickford gets picked, simply because he can pass a ball better than Pope or Henderson.

Pope is irreplaceable for us in the premier league as he takes so much pressure off us taking high crosses.
I'm not sure if that style is as beneficial at international level or Pope needs all the extra attention that comes with it.
The hatred Pickford gets is unreal for being our number one.
He doesn't need that, there's already a few silly posters on here who doubt him.

It's certainly not hatred. He just makes routine saves look the equivalent of Gordon Banks saving Pele's header!

He clearly plays up to the cameras.

Simple really, people don't like Pickford because he's a knob.

Pope may have some competition in Henderson, but with Pope’s longer involvement with the England squad it puts him firmly ahead for this summers European Championships. There’s already murmurings about Pickford’s lack of form so who knows what could happen between now and then.

He wasn’t banging on about Henderson when he gave the points to Liverpool earlier in the season...a kind of mistake I’m yet to see Pope make...certainly worse than Nick’s Chelsea brain fart

Don’t like the rumours linking Pope with Chelsea.

Nor do I. Tbh if they bought the other bloke for 71m to be replaced by an English international. How much does that make Pope worth?

I'm a big Pope fan, but Pickford currently owns the shirt and I'll back him in the Euro's if he's picked as no 1

It might not be from you but if you read social media or even this forum at times.
