Are there any stats on Wood being offside. I can't remember Wood being offside against united. Have we changed tactics now Barnes is not playing.

Stolen from Twitter, excellent stat.

Chris Wood is one of only 12 players to score 30+ Premier League goals since the start of the 2017/18 season.
Salah, Kane, Aguero, Vardy, Sterling, Aubameyang, Mane, Firmino, Lacazette, Rashford and Son are the others.

Why does it matter if he’s scoring goals and playing well? Some players get caught offside more than others because they play close to the line to give themselves as much chance of reaching the ball because they lack pace.

Have you got stats for how many times he was offside in some of the other games we've played this season?

Only around 7-8 players per season reach 15 goals. He's got 14 games to get 5 more goals. It's doable.

Nailed on to become our most prolific PL forward.

In answer to the OP, yes we do play differently without Barnes. Maybe Jay will get a good crack at it and we will catch a few out as they will be expecting us to do one thing (as we have in the past been more than a little predictable) and we will do something else.

Wood is caught a lot because he plays off the shoulder of defenders. Good at it too.

Jimmy Greaves back in the 60s was always a top scorer
Often acused of goal hanging but had a happy knack of being there to put the ball in the net
Chris has this too and his goals will keep flowing

Fantastic striker and he'd be much more of a fan favourite if he had a good song.

He’s keeping good company then, and still gets slagged off for being offside

You can hear the sighs in the stands but he’s clearly told to play this way. The stat in isolation is a bit meaningless because of this.

Or if he wasn’t a Leeds fan

I've said for a good while he's properly under rated by Burnley fans generally.

Been an outstanding signing. 30 goals in 71+13 Premier League appearances is an excellent return.

According to Kicker Online (in German), Burnley FC would be in a Champions League position if Chris Wood could concentrate more !!
Stats given by Kicker: Chris has missed 16 easy chances and has been offside 26 times !!
