Are car blankets across the knees compulsory and are we in danger of bringing the average age of spectators down by about 10 years as neither of us are eligible for our winter heating allowance yet?

Take a hip flask with Sherry in it.
You'll be the star of the stand.

Try to look confused get your carer to point you at the pitch, dribble a bit down your chin. For the ultimate blending in a smell of yesterdays urine won't go amiss.

Be prepared for some moaning as the Bob Lord definitely house a lot more of the negative fans that the other stands

Be prepared to have the most comfortable seats in the Stadium and depending just where possibly the best view . Oh, and by the way, dont expect to be able to push past people part way through the first or second halves to get to the loo, because contrary to popular believe us old gits seem to be able to control our bladders for 45 minutes and some for even 95 minutes. The opposite was my experience when I once sat in the JH standwith people pushing past many times. Above all welcome to the senior supporters stand and enjoy the experience.

You are all a set of cheeky gits.
Speaking as someone who has tried them all at various times, the Bob Lord is far and away the best stand at the ground in terms of comfort, leg room, access and egress, view of the pitch etc.
It certainly has no more idiots than the other stands and they tend to watch the game (mostly) unlike half the Cricket Field who seem to spend large parts of the game at the bar/toilet.
Finally, don't forget, the Bob Lord is populated by fans who supported the Club through actual difficult times, unlike the odd blip here and there these days, while you lot were still filling your nappies and sucking on your mothers wotsits!

Prepare for constant groaning, grumbling ,wincing and sighing....and a lot of moaning at what goes on on the pitch. Though apart from the smell of formalahyde and the occasional emergency emptying of colostomy bags the view is very good .

Out of interest, what does it cost to upgrade?

I sit in the JL Lower, however I did wonder what it would be like in the BL. But then I watched those in the BL seats politely applauding when we scored and decided it’s more fun to be with all the silly buggers who jump up and down and shout “who are yer?”
Besides....you never sit in the sun on the BL stand.

Good afternoon, as one of the lucky people to have a seat in the Bob lord stand I have one of the best views on the ground 4 rows back from the away dugout 5 yds in towards cricket field stand my seat is next to the directors box. cost for me £490 cost for person next to me at least double , believe they get a free blanket for the game a pie and programme.
I can assure you that when we score the people around me jump up and down cheering like we have one the league again !!1 the ones who clap politely are usually the directors of the visiting club. And if we are not doing well I always stay to the end. With regard to people from other stands coming into the Bob lord there are a few rules that are being looked at to implement 1, must be able to see through claret glasses even if you dont wear them 2 must hurl abuse at poor refereeing against Burnley 3 hurl abuse at refereeing that goes against us even if it is correct 4 abuse must not be of a language that is inappropriate for a family stand. Things like you are a cad sir or referee you have made a bad call are more than satisfactory if hurld with venom and the accent exceedingly rare. 5 most of all must enjoy times of disappointment as we do have a few of them but with the claret glasses or glasses of claret soon forgotten and become memories of past glory. Enjoy your visit Mr and Mrs stan, and if you can hget a seat with a good view worth changing too

The Bob Lord is easily the most comfortable stand as regards the seats. Be aware that any seat on row Q or higher cannot see the big screen. Ok, not many of us sing but we do shout a lot and are passionate about the clarets. The view is excellent if you ignore the supporting pillars. You will not be disappointed with your visit. Wouldn’t give up my seat for anything.

I remembered you to an old childhood neighbour of yours on Greengates Lane LP... Paul Coates and he remembers you living next door... albeit 56ish years ago

.
Paul still lives there as he moved back in when his mum died ... a few years ago.

Reminds me of a quote by Jack Whitehall when he said, of someone he overheard at an Arsenal game, 'Oh Anelka you are so lackadaisical'.

I too are having a foray into the B.L. stand on the morrow. As a pensioner from next year, I thought I'd check out the lay of the land. Is there any specific tartan pattern required for my rug and can I replace the Werthers for fruit travel sweets? Answers to my questions would be much appreciated as I don't want to cause any etiquette problems.
