Curious to see people's opinions of the best Burnley, player, performances they have seen in their lifetime for me the top 3 are:

1. Robbie Blake v Tottenham - League Cup Semi Final 2nd leg 2009
2. Tom Heaton v Man Utd - Premier League 2016
3. Stephen Ward v Stoke - Premier League 2014

Notable mention for Brian Jensen v Arsenal League Cup 2008 and Clarke Carlisle v Sheff Utd in the Play Off Final.

I think it is easier for a goalkeeper to get a top performance - I'd add, from yesteryear, two FA Cup performances by Adam Blacklaw at Sheffield Wednesday in 1961 and, despite the 3-0 defeat, Tony Waiters at Oxford in 1971.

I've no argument with Robbie being there - that was a sensational performance. As for Wardy, I recall saying during the first half that I couldn't see what he gave us at left back that Ben Mee didn't. And then he turned in that performance.

I think the Stoke game where Ward was left back & Mee moved to centre half was a pivotal game in our Premier League story.

Jan. 1962 against Manchester City at home. We won the game 6-3 and Jimmy Mc was at his absolute best. City defender,Cliff Sear, left the field in the 2nd half with what was described as ' nervous palpitations'. No wonder with the way our magician in the No8 shirt was playing A very long time ago, I know, but I haven't seen and don't expect to see anything like it again. Scintillating stuff!

. thinks the opening 45 minutes at Brentford a few years ago was the best half he’s seen any Burnley side put in.

Playoff second leg at Reading must rank high.
They were far the better team ont’Turf and although they came into the playoffs with poor home form I never expected a complete team performance of that standard.

For individual performances it is difficult but Ralph Coates was a one man team so often. Just can’t put a name to one that stands out above the others.

Too many to mention really, but as memorable halves go, I recall us being 6-0 up vs Port Vale when the whistle went for half time. Not Premier League, granted, but its one of my earliest vivid memories of watching the team. I'd like to watch that again :-)

Always thought that one of the best individual performances was the Beast v Reading in October 2008. We best them 1-0 at the Turf and he stopped everything they threw at him. From memory Robbie Blake got the winner but Jensen won us the game.

Your right there about Ralph. What about picking the time he sat down for a rest? If for nothing else because of where he did it. :)
