Loathe the ones who are soooooo desperate to be a celeb they will actually consider ANYTHING as long as there is a camera present.
Love the ones who are genuinely world class at what they do.

There's a difference between a celebrity & a star.
Absolutely anyone can now be a celebrity, there's good, bad & in-between.
Stars are very few & far between.
Has anyone come remotely close to the old stars such as Frank Sinatra & John Wayne.

I just cant bear women reality tv "celebrities" with Klopp's ultra white teeth and lips like fish, the World is not really a nice place anymore with all these fame hungry nobodies on our tv screens every time we switch it on.

It is the public and the media that create celebrities ---if we all ignored them they would be nothing, in spite of their craving.
Sadly, there are too many people out there who want to aid them in their quest and who also want to be able to say that they know a 'celebrity' ---the world is a sad place.

I don't accept the concept of someone being a "celebrity".
Said person is, obviously, in the public eye, very good at their job and very likeable or very good at their job and an arsehole or overrated and likeable or overrated and an arsehole.
Our media seem to be awash with many examples of each of these.
Sean Dyche.
Chris Wilder
Peter Kay
Piers Morgan
Guess the category !

None of these are always set in stone either : Rio Ferdinand, always hovering perilously close to Piers Morgan territory in my opinion, will no doubt rise to "good egg" status after his family's documentary (?) is aired tonight.

Most celebrity actors I have met are very nice, however a couple were of the 'prima donna' variety.

What makes a celebrity a celebrity? It's things like this site talking about them. What you have to get your head around is they crave fame and don't care how it comes about. Even people saying how much they hate them is good for them because there is no such thing as bad publicity as they say.
There are genuine stars - people who become celebrities without actually looking for it - it is a by-product of their success at whatever they do. And there are the 'fame seekers' - these are the ones everyone loves to hate - the 'reality' stars - the internet stars - the bloggers. Does anyone really think that, for example, Katey Hopkins cares what you think of her? She wants people to hate her because that gives her fame and headlines.
The really sad ones, for me, are not the fame seekers themselves, they are only only famous because people make them so, and they make a decent living from it, it is the people, ordinary people, who gobble up all this sh!te in magazines like Now and so on or the media in general and kind of live their lives by proxy following the deeds of these no-marks then go to their equally sad friends and have conversations about them like they are mates of some kind. 'Oh have you seen what Kim the Bimbo from celebrity call-it-what-you-will has been up to with Jordan the hunk from Hunksville?'
The celebrity wannabees are not really sad, they are very clever. It's the people who feed them that are sad.

Celebrities to me are those that just crave the fame eg, reality tv idiots, Keith Lemons crowd and so on.
I don’t count superstars like Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt etc as “celebrities”. They don’t crave fame, don’t do what they do for the fame. It's just something what comes along for what they do.

Dyched has it spot on there.
Anyone interested in watching a real celebrity who has never wanted the fame have a look at the Al Pacino interview on bbc last week - never wanted fame from the start and still doesn’t like it....but he learned to adjust in dealing with it so he could carry on doing what he loves.
The people who crave fame just for the sake of it and have zero talent are everywhere these days - you don’t even have to get on TV....look at all those You Tubers with millions of followers watching them do absolutely nothing of value in their bedroom....I don’t get it all all.
It’s the same with the likes of Love Island etc - I don’t suppose they are doing much harm but their wealth and fame seems underserved / unwarranted if you are basing this on pure talent and ability.

This is the whole point mate. What these people actually do is fairly harmless (unless it drips over into people trying to emulate them if they do bad or dangerous things) and if it keeps them off the social security then that is fine. Providing they are not robbing people or stealing from then it is just a way of making a living. I'm not into it at all but many for whatever reason are. As I have said in another post the fame seekers are not sad it's the ones who buy the celebrity magazines and such like that are sad, in my humble opinion.
