We were talking about first gigs at work today which made put it on. First time I've listened to it for years and years.

What a bloody good album.

Sally Ann (from Slinky) gets a play at least now and then at a radio station in Canada (certainly later this year).

As well as Apple Green I really rate Here I Stand, Which Way Should I Jump and Never Come Down Again off that album as great tracks.

Nationality was always a favourite. I'd forgotten how good Sally Ann was, for some reason I remembered it as the acoustic version that was a b-side.

Probably worth mentioning for those who weren't aware, they were local lads and Clarets (they were once interviewed stood on The Longside and sold retro Burnley shirts with and MB logo), otherwise it would be a bit of a random thing to post.

Buggers can now ... the clever so & so's can fly now when it comes to Daleks we have no chance....

I remember a Milton Brothers gig in Manchester when we were riding high in 91/92 and half the crowd which must have been a 1000 strong were wearing Burnley tops. Now that was an atmosphere!

Remember seeing their farewell gig at the Mechanics around 96. Top gig but they returned. Saw them play behind the CFS when we played Leicester a few years back. Some catchy tunes.

Heres one for you. I saw The Milltown Brothers at Manchester Students Union at the tail end of 1993. Support was provided by an up and coming Manchester band........ Oasis.

Liam bless him stayed around for the full set the Milltowns played.

And yes I still have my ticket stub

They reformed for a charity gig at The Colne Muni several years ago. One of the support acts that night was Mickey P Kerr who went on to make the BGT final in 2018

They also did a small gig on Lancashire Day at The Turf v Leicester a couple of seasons back

Loved Slinky. Second album wasn't bad either. Very jangly band. Did a couple of decent Dylan covers as well.

Where was the first time you saw them? I remember Steve Davis mark1 at their Colne Muni gig.

One of the Colne Muni gigs with Hate Syndicate supporting in 1991, probably around the time Slinky was released.

The 91 show I missed Hate Syndicate that night, but I think Apple Green had just been released the place was packed. A top night.

Did an EP of Dylan covers called it's all over now baby blue which had a good cover of Hurricane on it along with positively fourth street and I shall be released . Very true to Dylan and a good listen.

Barney’s still playing up and down the country, and lives in Burnley. I used to play with him in bands for years after the Milltown Brothers days. He’s still a top lad..well Dad now actually! Suppose I’d have to say that about him, he’s one of my best friend’s for years, and was my best man. He’s actually not as fat, and fitter than he was in 1991..we still play 5 a side most weeks at Crow wood.

Probably in the minority but I thought Valve was the better of the two albums.

I saw them around 92/93 - supported by Beware The Green Monkey - around the same time they rather strangely got a slot on 'Wogan' - prime time TV

Remember the FA Cup 3rd Round game against City in '91 when either Apple Green or Which Way Should I Jump was played over the PA in the build-up to KO
