I think it's probably time to give Burnley some credit, they don't keep beating us 'by luck', they are better than us and have been for some years. You may not like their style, but at the end of the day it's getting them wins and points. They could've won it by more today after we put 3 up top, Burnley looked more the likely to score. We are regressing and badly need a win to steady the ship. ****e day, weekend ruined.

Don’t think there is too much negativity aimed at us. Most seen to be slagging off their own team - but like on here when we lose lol !

Are Southampton and Bournemouth not neighbours anymore?

"How do we ALWAYS lose games like that. It is so predictably boring. Poor second half with no ideas. Really needed to freshen things up in January but another fail from these pathetic owners."

Sound familiar ?

Mostly complimentary to us, as far as I can see.

The main difference is that they blame the ref and the poor quality of their opponents when they lose; on this board people tend to blame the manager and Board of Directors.

Youre joking the majority on here blame the ref and VAR when we lose and throw in a bit of opposition cheating for good measure

Doesn’t come across as particularly anti-BFC. Last 2 posters have had to do a fair bit of digging to find relevant posts.Sounds like fans disappointed with a home loss and a poor performance - shock horror!

If they'd just lost to our team from the 90's then they really should be ****** off.

I always thought their lot were bearable but had the usual bunch of morons attached. Still can't work out why they came over to have a go at us when we sent them down to div 1 rather than show anger against their board.

They're a bang average side without Nathan Redmond.
You can't blame us for that.

Typical comments after a loss, most are derogatory about their own team rather than slagging us off. A few digs at the ref who I thought did a decent job, made allowances for the conditions and tried to let the game flow.

What did catch my eye were these two comments.

"But my main gripe is the Handball/Var/Refs not making decisions and hoping VAR will cover. Why oh why do the powers that be think it is ok to review and cancel perfectly good goals for the slightest of accidental touches of the ball against an attacking forward's arm or hand, that nobody has even appealed for, and only spotted after 3 minutes of VAR reviewing, yet when a defenders arm is involved and spectators on the phucking moon are screaming handball, is it not deemed worthy of a penalty?????

I've said it a million times over the last few years .... most tackles that are awarded penalties aren't actually INTENTIONAL fouls, just as today's and others aginst us this season, may not have been INTENTIONAL, but an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE was gained. That should be the crux of the matter, none of this was his hand/arm in anatural positon etc."

And then a more sensible view.

"Unfortunately your simple fact is neither simple or a fact. Refs are told to treat hand balls differently depending on whether its attack or defence. If an attacker handles the ball either intentionally or not in the build up to a goal then it's an automatic free kick. If a defender handles then account is taken about the intention, just like it always has been, and as it should be. This stops strikers punting it at defenders arms from 2 yards, and defenders having to defend in the box with their arms behind their backs. I think they've got it about right."

Have to say I agree with the latter. No way that was a penalty, it hit Mee's upper arm as he was trying to get his arm out of the way. It wasn't deliberate or even avoidable. I've seen comments on here that they'd be livid if it has been us and not awarded. Well I wouldn't, it wasn't goalbound so you can't even say it prevented a goal. For once, common sense prevailed.

Yes the club that quite recently went bust, fell into League one, wiped out their huge debts enabling new owners to invest......

A bunch of fairly down to earth fans who are just upset at losing. Not disimilar to our lot really. There might be the odd dig at us but that's football. Not one saying they deserved to win and most just bitterly upset by their own team. Only thing I found odd was one or two saying that the weather favoured us...why would we like playing in a mild hurricane more than anyone else? Unless the opposition are a bit...soft?
