Re: Considerate Phil Neville
England were a strong team under Mark Sampson but unfortunately. rightly or wrongly he was sacked and under Neville they've gradually sunk to a second rate team despite having some of the best players in the world in women's football. He was ineffective at Valencia and has become so in his current role,it's time he moved on and perhaps should progress to Salford FC or similar.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
The man has a philosophy and not a plan of how to go about finding the best way to win.
Where has this nonsense come from of playing out from the back with the goalkeeper when your players aren't good enough?
He's been unfortunate with injuries but that happens. He still tries to play the same way and it's easy for the opposition.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
They were doing ok and caught the imagination prior to PN.unfortunatley with media attention focus on Women and women's football in general parity in pay was soon on the agenda.theres no comparison. So the womens game needs to take a step back and be realistic in its objectives within the game.the women are way off equality in pay..that said the men are paid way to much!kritichris wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 11:30 pmEngland were a strong team under Mark Sampson but unfortunately. rightly or wrongly he was sacked and under Neville they've gradually sunk to a second rate team despite having some of the best players in the world in women's football. Surely they should have a woman’s manager.is he not taking a role that a more qualified, experienced and talented woman could do?

I didn’t know they see on such a poor run, I’ve just been aware of the media hype and presumed everything was going great.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
He didn't really have any significant role at Valencia so it's difficult to assess what if any impact he had there.kritichris wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 11:30 pmHe was ineffective at Valencia and has become so in his current role,it's time he moved on and perhaps should progress to Salford FC or similar.
Re: Considerate Phil Neville
But with modern equality and diversity they should still be paid the same as their male counterparts

The BBC will keep plugging it until everyone likes it as much as men’s football and it can be seen as equal in every respect. There will be a long wait.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
Phil Neville is the English equivalent of Ally MacLeod,he thought it would be a cake walk to win the world cup.
I'm sure in Phil's mind he imagined the women's job as a stepping stone to bigger things in the future, but it's not been the panacea he envisaged.
The real worry is that England are falling quickly in the rankings,6th before the She Believes cup,and that's likely to be lower in the next update.
I'm not convinced the players are buying into his possession based style that he's trying to implement,England's past success was based on a high tempo power game, this squad aren't technically good enough to play out from the back, and by now Phil should have learned that, but he's too stubborn to compromise his principles, and ultimately this will cost him his job.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
He has put too much pressure on the England's women's team by stating, before every tournament, that they are there to win it not make up the numbers.....big mistake in my opinion. On top of that, there is the simple fact that he is a sh!t manager, another ex-United player who likes talking bullocks on tv.

Going but not immediately https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52389507 right decision in my view, though why he's hanging around for a year is baffling.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
He promised the WC,and he failed to deliver, after that he was always on borrowed time, teams gone backwards, and the playing out from the back style doesn't suit them, high tempo pressing game and quick counter attacks are when England look at their best, not tiki-taka leave that to the Spanish.

Re: Considerate Phil Neville
Not sure I'd agree with that. I think Gary makes a lot of sense, but failed to implement that as a manager, and he's admitted as much. Phil's useless as a manager, but I don't want to listen to him either.Longsidelenny wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 11:47 amJust like his brother very good at talking a good game but cannot put anything in to practice utc

We've plenty of men taking managerial jobs they're not qualified for in Mens football, maybe it's time to give the women a chance.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 12:35 amSurely they should have a woman’s manager.is he not taking a role that a more qualified, experienced and talented woman could do?
