Hi all,

So with no live football what would you recommend in terms of classic matches / football films/ the big match, MOTD etc available on iPlayer, Amazon or Netflix etc ?

Thanks. Need to find some football to watch with my 5 year old football obsessed son.

Looking forward to Saturday night on Channel 4 at 9.00p.m. - Maradona. Love him or hate him "hand of God" & all that, without doubt one of the greatest in my lifetime.

The best match I ever witnessed. Shame about the result but two great teams going at it.
England v Holland. Dusseldorf. Euro 88

I had 3 videos in the 80s. They were MOTD the 60s, the 70s and the 80s. Absolutely brilliant to watch. The BBC should be showing some of these games on Saturday night's, not insulting our intelligence with Mrs Brown's boys.

I used to love the 'Rock n Goal' Years'. Great bit of social commentary spliced with music and football of the era. I hope it's on YouTube...

The BT Sports Films are worth a watch if you haven’t seen them already.

Bit London-centric in terms of the subjects of the films, but I really enjoyed the Jimmy Greaves, Crazy Gang and Crystal Palace documentaries.

There's a documentary on Netflix about Maradona's spell at managing a Mexican football team in the Sinaloa area. Quite a good watch although there is quite a bit of bad language so maybe not suitable for a 5 year old. Maybe you could just turn off the subtitles at key moments!

BT have been showing a documentary on the cult 90s show Gazzetta Football Italia. Brought back some great memories of watching it as a kid.

Amazon- inside Borussia Dortmund is pretty good, although only available with English subtitles. It's really about how they blew a 9 point lead over Bayern in the Bundesleague last season, but also shows the history of the club, how they nearly went bust, and footage of their previous championships under Klopp etc, cup, and Champions League wins. 4 parter, very watchable.
