Now pubs are to shut you will soon be able to get a pint in a speakeasy. This type of thing will flourish now. I think I can see a profit in my home brew.

Just been up to the Crooked Billet, Worsthorne and had my empty milk bottles filled with the ale of your choice for £2.50 a litre. Cheaper than a regular Friday night out.

Just been speaking to my landlord regarding this and he said that there will be too many people who may report him and it’s not worth his licence and/or fine to risk the few quid he might make

The more people fail to adhere to the rules the longer this will go on. A few selfish people still going to pubs could keep this going for months longer then it has to. It’s time now for everyone to just do the right thing so we can end this as soon as possible. Issue is people won’t do the right thing and that’s why this will go in for months and months. Humans are selfish.

So if everyone does the right thing and stop going to the pub covid19 will just disappear?
Get a grip fella. Yes people need to do the right thing, pubs will now be closed, does that mean we can go back to normal next month?
Of course it doesn't. If you think this will be sorted because "a few people" will no longer be able to go to the pub you are in dreamland.

Think you have totally missed the point in closing pubs (+ restraunts, cafes, cinemas, gyms, theatres, etc). Clue - it ain't to do with drinking

The quicker the isolation and testing the slower the spread no matter how you shake it, a few people in Padiham yes a few 8n Preston etc adds up to likely a million and that's Conservative.
It's mathematically not worth it, the death toll is increasing daily, Every day counts.
THAT BEING SAID
It is important not to bash the people who did go out tonight simply because it's their last night of freedom so to speak, and after a long but rapidly escalating week, I understand the need for release especially when it's about to go away. So there was a certain usefulness.
I've been glued to all reputable world news sources for 2 weeks watching the growth curve and its this week was fair unbearable it changed and or escalated every day. I could do with a ******* release too. Hope you were safe and had fun but you guys need to be extra cautious from now

I"m one of those selfish people who have been to the pub for a couple of hours tonight.
My local, and part of my life for the past 40 odd years
I won't be going there tomorrow or for however many months, maybe never again, yet I can still go to work and share an office with 6 other people on Monday, interact with dozens of others.

We need to work out how to keep people more happy and engaged than sad bored and destructive in the coming months because civil unrest and or disobedience could be on the line.

Damn this virus that only affects social venues
No offence VC but lots of folk won't be going to work for a while having lost their jobs and now have the worry of Debt and putting food on the table...hope you enjoyed your ale though.

There are little thoughts that keep cropping up like this that just make me quiet and very erm, sombre. It isn't a good situation, I feel sure they will pivot to ubi

Your office is a controlled environment. You can happily work away 2m apart. A pub is not and never could be. Sad to say but in these times it is a correct decision.
