There are just under 4.5k registered users on this forum. If we could all donate £1-2 into a fund such as Just Giving or similar we could give to the local community who are affected in this uncertain time.

Add your ideas and I will check this post later in the day and set up a Just Giving or something similar and once we reach a consensus on where to donate we can, or split it between various local charities.

Still think it'll be good to get some other ideas as to where we, as a community, can best help out.

An option could be using the money to set up an online shopping ordering service for vulnerable residents of Burnley aimed particularly at older people who live alone with little support network and don't use the internet. There will be people temporarily not working that could do this voluntarily. Cash flow and payment would be an issue but could be worked through and the money could be used to pump prime.

Great idea but please remember, there are Burnley fans throughout East Lancs, not just in Burnley.

It wouldn't be aimed at Burnley fans but rather the vulnerable residents of Burnley. There are Burnley fans throughout the country and the world. It was a suggestion to support local people who could be desperate for basic items and being realistic about what such a scheme could deliver in terms of scale. The reality is many initiatives will be at a community level. It may not be deliverable but thought it was worth suggesting.

Of course. To be fair, it was a mistake to say Burnley fans. I should have put vulnerable people in the area.

I'll stick with the food bank. That may become an imperative for many.

If there are local businesses that you use regularly that are experiencing a downturn or having to close temporarily and you want them to carry on after this pandemic (and you can afford it) please consider forward paying for their service - If there is something I have learnt from my following of football finance is that cash flow is everything.

Not in business myself but it is something worth looking at for those that you use and treasure, they may be getting assistance with Rates and wages but there are still many other bills to pay

should add that this is a suggestion to run alongside those mentioned above (all of which are worthy) not a as an alternative - as ever the choice is down to the individual
