Just watched the Hitchcock original great movie and Margaret Lockwood so super HOT.

She's a bit hard to spot, though.

If you like Margaret Lockwood, and I do, check out The Wicked Lady. She’s immense in that opposite James Mason.

if it is lean then either dr zhivago or brief encounter must be 2 or 3.

brief encounter is the better film imo.

Surprisingly neither Ice cold nor Dr Zhivago are on the list. (Maybe they're not considered to be "culturally British" ??)

James Mason is always worth a watch - fabulous actor and supreme as a cold calculating villain

Margaret Lockwood is also in Night Train to Munich directed by Carol Reed in which you will find two familiar looking chaps worried about missing the cricket - it is also a good film

Iv'e not seen the original Lady vanishes but I have seen the one with Elliot Gould and Cybill Shepherd. Cybill was a grand looking woman too.

The original is available for iplayer for the next 16 days - a real classic

Strangely enough, I've just watched "The Man in Grey" on Talking Pictures, starring Margaret Lockwood, James Mason, Stewart Grainger and Phyllis Calvert (that's what you get up to after 3 weeks of TOTAL lockdown in Spain - I'm not allowed out for an exercise walk, I have to stay at home - the police have road blocks up here and are handing out €600 fines). Anyway the film was a great success in the early forties and was a breakthrough film for most of these actors, worth a watch for nostalgia's sake at least.

I would have thought the Man Man the White Suit would have been in the Top 100?

Im surprised that there aren't a lot of war films up there. Dam busters. The cruel sea.
Four weddings and a funeral is quintessentially British notwithstanding the American woman in it.
Younger people would have picked the monty python things at that sort of time. I imagine the older ones would go for blythe spirit, the importance of being Ernest etc.

four weddings is bile.

as for war films went the day well would be my particular favourite.
