Some think that the current first minister conspired against him with his accusers,

Another failure by the justice system, he should be in the next cell to Harvey Wienstein, surely nine women cant be telling porkies.

I would think he would be best taking a break...or self isolating at home, with Mrs Salmond.

Very surprising although one charge was "not proven".
Did the jury decide all the women were lying/ exaggerating? I'd've thought there'd be more "not proven" verdicts at the very least. Friom memory, the jury was more women than men so maybe even more surprising.

He said it was political-not sure whether he meant the accusations or the acquittal.

Guilty until proved innocent.

It's not about whether the women were lying/exaggerating though is it. You are innocent until proven guilty. It appears that in this case the jury could not find him guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

He might not have been found guilty of crimes but it’s difficult not to conclude he’s been inappropriate for years. Not sure he can recover his reputation now regardless of the verdict. Will be interesting to see how this lands in Scotland.

He admitted himself in court that some of his behaviour was inappropriate,as for any political impact, well! Salmond has retired from front-line political life, however if he insists on releasing information into the public domain, that for various reasons wasn't allowed in court, then it could cause ructions within the SNP,get the popcorn ready.

Never forget when the bell-end waved the Scottish flag in the Royal Box when Murray won his first Wimbledon. What a prick.

This kind of comment is exactly why defendants in sexual cases should be given equal anonymity. I suppose you think he ‘got away with it’.

Never any winners with these cases. Only he knows the truth, and the women who gave evidence.
Innocent found guilty and vice versa are shocking for the victims and the accused but for the innocent found not guilty it is also dreadful as the nod nod wink wink brigade then go on to castigate the acquitted. Potentially just like some posters on here now with Salmond.

Pretty sure he was referring to the accusations and this was directed towards the leader of the SNP - wee Jimmy Krankie.
