Flights into the UK

I've been watching flight radar 24 and cannot believe the number of flights flying in and around the UK, especially BA and to some extent Ryanair. Surely the passengers and crew are taking a greater risk of catching the Virus, while sat shoulder to shoulder than the majority of other people are at risk.
Quite a number of flights today have passed over us, from mainly Vancouver and Toronto, to Holland and Germany. These planes are in the air around 7 hours. I can't believe people are prepared to risk their lives, to travel.
It beggars belief the Airlines are still flying, or being allowed to fly.
While the numbers of aircraft in the sky has dropped by nearly half. A lot more small private/business planes are now in the skies.

The government have advised all Britains to return home... Difficult to do that if you don't fly.

Should we be allowing people back or should we say “tough you will have to wait’

How do you think perishable goods like food get into the country?

Cargo, medical supplies. Special charters. Chinese business Jets. Planes don't necessarily carry lots of people. e.g. One DC8 owned by the Samaritans has been across the Atlantic a couple of times sending supplies to Italy . For some airlines cargo traffic has tripled recently

They're flights which are transmitting positional data through satellites.
Explained at:-

Hardly any flights across the pond at all this week except for freight and middle east airline services.

I have two friends with a young child currently stuck in New Zealand. Should have flown back a few days ago but all flights were cancelled!

It's crazy as when they set off a few weeks ago the UK was open and everything was reasonably normal. Now we're locked down. Shows how much things can change in two weeks.
