Chap, I've just been sent a link on my iPhone to an app that once you enter your data in will help the NHS and this country to track Covid-19.
I'll try and post the url - once I logon to this forum on my phone, I'm not sure if this is available on android.
You enter your symptoms once a day - seems like a good idea to assist us all.
Keep safe - and stay indoors.

Guys, when there's something "in the news" the scammers get thinking, hmm, I wonder how we can use that to scam some more money.
Be careful and think before you click.
EDIT: However, since I made this post have seen a report in The Times that mentions this app. It is genuine - this one is not a scam. It may be that using this app assists getting to grips with coronavirus.

Paul, I understand that you DO need to be wary and their are some scumbags who like to take advantage of these situations, but please read the link below
Quotes from the link shown below.
King’s College London has launched an app enabling people to report symptoms of Covid-19 so that the progression of the disease can be tracked in real time.
The free monitoring app has been developed as a partnership between researchers at King’s and health data science company ZOE. It will be widely available to health staff and the general public who wish to contribute to this research.
“The more of the public that also use the app, the better the real-time data we will have to combat the outbreak in this country.”

Hi icu81b4 (that's some user name), and my apologies on this occasion. Late last night I saw a report on the app in The Times. I agree, this one is definitely genuine - and may prove useful.
I will edit my original post to make it clear that this app isn't a scam.

Can’t it track your location and use your camera without telling you? I’m sure there was something about emails aswell. Obviously a lot of apps ask for your permission to use camera and microphone etc but this one seems dodgy.

The tracker wants to know where you are situated because ... THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT!!! ..So the scientists can see where the virus is most virulent. It does NOT need to use your microphone or camera.
All you have to do is go into the app once a day and answer the question
"Have you had a test for COVID-19" - I answer No
"How do you feel physically right now?" - Their are two options ... 1.
"I feel physically normal" or 2.
"I'm not feeling quite right"
- I answer 1.
I don't know what the next question would be if I answered 2. because I haven't had to.
That's all there is to it ... I'm not sure why anyone would NOT want to help fight this thing.

There are reliable data and unreliable data. This website will add very little as in that group will be 1) pranksters 2) snotty noses with Corvid-19 3)snotty noses without Corvid-19 3) really ill people but at home with Corvid-19 4) really sick people who do not have it. Not on it will be those with and without illness who do not report it and those with Corvid-19 who are oblivious to the fact that they have it.
Result a pea soup of data that no-one can see through, although knowing Tim Spector he will try
I think this will become a completely useless data set

Interview on R4 this morning said the NHS is developing it's own app and will want to get as many people as possible on it.
A difficulty though is that there are several now being developed which will spread the data thinner amongst them all making it less useful.
The NHS may ask UK app developers to cease their apps and attempt to migrate people on to theirs.
