I saw this tribute on FB and thought I would share it on here. I have been a customer at his takeaway for many years. Sad news.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to write this status. My dad, Vincenzo Manta also known as Enzo, passed away yesterday at the Royal Blackburn.

We have been inundated with messages and phone calls of well wishes. We are sorry we haven't been able to reply to every call or message but we thank you all.

Enzo wouldn't want any doom and gloom over his passing. He was always positive and he was a proud Burnley man.

He loved this town, he loved the people of Burnley and he loved his beloved Clarets. He was a Burnley boy through and through.

He had many proud moments. He loved his football, he represented Saint Mary's at Primary School and went on to win everything playing for Saint Theodore's High school. He also represented the Burnley Town team.

From playing for the Burnley Town team to opening his first Ice cream van and to opening Enzo's Pizza Takeaway with his brothers.

He served the good people of Burnley for over 40 years. He leaves, his beautiful wife Maria his son Nicolò and daughter Carmela, as well as his granddaughter Sofia Maria and his new born Grandson Vincenzo Matteo.

He leaves his brothers his sister, his mother and his nieces and nephews and all of his family and friends.

Enzo was, is and will always be a true Burnley legend.

Really sorry to hear that karatekid, I've been going in for years and hearing the news has really put a chill down my spine.

I was in there about a fortnight ago and could see what a good set up there was - they had a lad wiping down all the surfaces and were limiting numbers in the shop. I wouldn't worry about acknowledging all the messages just at the minute, people will understand that you can't reply to them all straightway. All the best, you'll be in my thoughts.

Enzo was one of the most fantastic blokes you'll ever meet, I used to go round his house to fix his PC on a few occasions in return for a few spicy beef deep pan pizzas.

RIP Enzo

Really sorry for any misinterpretation as none was intended. I am not related to Enzo , I am just one his many customers over the years and just followed the business on FB where I saw the unfortunate news this morning and shared the post with this board :(

Really sad news :(
Always asked if we wanted “Garlic Mayo” whenever asked for a pot of mayo

Family lives a few doors down from us and hadn’t seen him around for a while but put that down to being “isolated”

Our thoughts are with his family, and being a Grandpa, I hope that his Grandson Vincenzo Matteo, will grow up knowing what a great character Enzo was.

Sad news. Like many in Burnley the question was never fancy a pizza. It was fancy an Enzos. I have stopped off a couple of times on visits to parents after phoning through an order on the motorway to remind me what I am missing. RIP Enzo.

Rip Vincenzo

This is very sad news and a big shock when I heard it through a family member.

I saw Vincenzo in Costa Coffee at Tesco only 2-3 weeks ago and true to character he gave me a big smile and warm greeting. This was the first time I'd ever seen him out from behind the counter at Enzos.

Whenever I went in he always had the time of day for you even though it was always busy. Customer service was always top of his priorities.
I think it was his brother Joe who helped him front the counter and I feel for him and the rest of his family. Also a great guy who I got to know at my auntie's funeral not so long ago.

Best pizza shop in Burnley. Deep pan pie style rather than the usual Italian thin crust. Always busy at weekends and had a loyal customer base despite a rise in less than mediocre takeaways popping up in that area over the years. RIP.
