As I understand it they haven’t taken a pay cut - they’ve agreed to defer their wages. So they will be paid in full whatever happens - even if they go bust !

What I will say it’s very clever PR from the club because nearly everyone is talking about them like they have taken a pay cut !!!

Burnley beat Leeds 4-1, Leeds didn't like it, Norman Hunter deliberately crippled Frank Casper by attacking his knee off the pitch after the ball had long gone. Ended his career.

Sorry folks I'm one of a small group that want them to come up...two great derby games...and with Bielsa their football is a joy to watch. a long way removed from the dirty Leeds of years ago. And I too was there for Casper incident... in the Leeds end...just yards away from it. The smirk on Hunter's face is still imprinted in my head.

I often wonder as time has moved on if Hunter ever thinks about that challenge and if so if he's remorseful.

Is there any footage of that tackle anywhere?...i doubt Hunter thought about it after the game...nevermind 40 odd years later

Leeds only lost twice all season. Apart from that afternoon at t'Turf, when Ralph tore them a new one, Leeds were pretty awesome!

Still lives long in the memory. I think I fell in love with Ralph Coates that day

If the season was cancelled I would be very happy to see Dirty Leeds staying down in the championship again.

there is no way I want to see the season cancelled and there is no way I want to see Leeds promoted, a true dilemma

I’d rather we finish the season as Burnley is my no 1 priority from a football point of view.
If that means Leeds go up as seems highly likely then so be it...they have a brilliant manager now, good owners for the first time in decades and some very good players..so it’s pretty inevitable they are going to be back sooner rather than later.

Leeds have bet the ranch on this season, if they don't go up it will take a few years for them to re-gather themselves for another push. If they do go up I expect an announcement of a new investor very quickly

The PL season and the EFL season are not the same.

Whilst the PL season may finish, the EFL might not, because they don't have the same financial resources to put on a 2 to 3 game-a-week closed doors televised tournament with hotel-bound for the month teams.

If that happens then the decisions about promotion and relegation to and from the PL should be negotiated AFTER the PL season finishes otherwise it will spoil the PL season end and all the bottom 7 excitement, because it's a real dog fight down there with some big names.

Not sure they have “bet the ranch” this season. The debt / losses are accumulating but a Leeds fan I know they got rid of some players since the last year end.
Watching the thing on Prime about them even though I hate them I am quite impressed with the way they have gone about things this time round and their owners have deep pockets and the likes of San Francisco 49s also have a part stake.
Not saying they don’t need to go up because they do - this year or next year - partly because they won’t be able to keep hold of their manager and better players. But they seem to me to be in much better shape on and off the pitch

The ironic thing is this wasn't just match highlights, it was a documentary team from one of the ITV companies filming the " mighty Leeds United ", and their Manager in late March to show their methods, team spirit etc, on their stroll to be title by 5 points ( 2pts for a win, back then ) ... I don't think a 1-4 home defeat, to a side only promoted that season was in the script !!

I bet Revie ripped into them after the cameras were turned off ...

Always loved playing leeds in the sixties and into the seventies... city utd Liverpool everton stoke west ham etc... I probably wouldn't have bothered if it was the likes of Fulham and west Brom every week. THe Cricketfield End was a Fantastic terrace.Especially when Leeds turned up!

They WILL be well supported, they are the only team in a large city with a
population of over 3/4 million, and an urban population in excess of 2 million.

Very well supported away from home... Excellent in fact. Home support? Not very good at all. Sure this year it's been good, but they've been hovering around the top of the table all season, so it should be good. Previous seasons have been very poor for a club their size, with their catchment area and the fact they share their city with no-one.

Classless and arrogant fans. Don't like 'em one iota.

Biggest blight on the English game is the blatant cheating we suffer from week in week out, all brought about by Revie's insistence of them behaving like they did on the pitch - they didn't just behave like thugs, they were masters of play acting, feigning injury regularly to get players booked/sent off. Great shame really because technically they were excellent.

So NO. Dirty leeds will always be just that for me...dirty. By all means you move on if you want to, I'm not going to... I enjoy my dislike of them, they earned it after all.

I think Brian Clough summed it up when he told them to throw all their medals in a bin because they never won owt fairly. Not daft about Clough but he had a point.

Probably contributed to him losing his job early.

I just like a little edge to a game...and the tension on the terraces as was.....I can confirm though I Do Dislike Leeds. But I do Like Yorkshire.
