Been selected at random, whether it's because I'm over 65 I don't know, but I've jumped
at the opportunity and am awaiting my test kit and further instructions.

Anyone else been selected ?

I got invited by the daily app, despite not having any symptoms to have a test. Signed up for one next day as the centre is 5 mins away. No medical staff, all DIY in the car. Horrible test to do, shoving the swab down the back of the throat and then up the nose - 2.5cm / 1 inch up the nose as well according to instructions!.

8 days later and no result back yet...

My testing is at home and then, whatever it is I have to stick wherever, will be collected by courier.

Results, apparently, within 7 days.

Did mine last week at a test centre. Got result in 2 days(Scotland). Got to agree, the test is uncomfortable. It makes me wonder how many people actually do it right.

I had a Test on 1st May still no results.

The system's working beautifully then..........

Hi Funkydrummer, is this part of the national survey to see how far the virus has spread?

I know someone who's applied to join the Oxford vaccine testing programme. They are in older age group (>60), so I don't think that part of the vaccine development will take place until they've proved it's safe in the 18-59 age groups. No idea whether they've been accepted on the vaccine programme. Not guaranteed that the programme will progress to that state, needs to prove it works and is safe for younger groups, first.

My Mrs.and I have got to be tested she works in a school which has had to close because a case has been found in another school with connections to my wife's.

Hi funky i received the same thing from the Imperial College London on behalf of the Department of health and social care so I registered and am waiting for the test kit which is collected by a courier who you have to ring the day before you do the test. I am 57 so don't think its anything to do with age.

I've heard it's a scam by the Russians.

They are collecting DNA samples from Western European countries as they have heard that there may be blood relatives of the late Tsar actively plotting to overthrow Putin.

My wife was selected, test arrived fast and courier. No result yet, taken last week. However thre diagram to explain did not match the numbers on the key in the leaflet

My test kit has arrived this afternoon so i shall do it tomorrow then the courier can pick it up on Sunday and it says I should have the results in 7 days so lets see what happens.

I had a knee operation at the beginning of last year for a football injury so I wondered if they had sent them to people who had been in hospital or had things done in the not too distant past. Would you fit in to that bracket? Just interested if it is really random and sorry to ask such a personal question

Not a problem mate, ask away. Not been in hospital to stay but been attending the eye clinic
in Blackburn and had a couple of endoscopies and a CT scan following a bout of acid reflux
just after Christmas.

By the way, I'm no way near 27 !!! In fact my house number is nearer than I am.

Hi Funky I did the test this morning and just to appease Enty the secret police collected the the sealed package to take to the highly sensitive location to examine the contents. I will let you know my results unless they come back to lock me away beforehand
