Published recently,It ain't heavy it's my story,is the autobiography of The Hollies drummer still going strong at the age of 78.The Hollies had more chart hits in the 60s than did The Beatles.I was due to see them in Edinburgh but the virus put a stop to that. Some consolation was to receive a copy of this excellent book for my birthday .There are numerous references to our area e.g.Local pubs, the Turf ,the Angels,Nelson Grammar School, the Imp etc.If you were growing up in the sixties you will enjoy reading Bob's story. He still lives locally and with the Hollies still tours worldwide with his long term friend and fellow locally born Tony Hicks. They remain a class act.

Yes I may look at that. Often wondered if he has a house that sits back from the road looking over Foulridge reseviour near to what was a garden centre several years ago.

I used to know Bobby quite well and have spent many a time at the Bay Horse in Roughlee playing Spoof along with the sadly departed Bob Blakebourgh

Bobby Elliott was born on the same day as my brother, Dec. 8, 1941, the day after the Japs attacked Pearl Harbour.

Does Bobby say in his autobiography why he and Tony Hicks didn't attend the Hollies induction into the USA Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010?

Terry Sylvester was present at the Induction and, on such a honourable occasion, he wore a Liverpool FC football shirt.

Probably cos it's a joke. Chicago had 10 successive top 10 albums in the USA,70-80s, and finally got inducted in 2016. They shouldn't have turned up.
There are many bands in there I have honestly never heard of.
The Chicago back story is they refused an interview, back in the 70s, to the guy who founded the HoF, when he was working for Rolling Stone. he never forgave them.

The focus of the book is mainly about the 60s 70s and 80s and the answer to your question is no.My recollection is that they were on tour at the time.

Bernie Calvert certainly had a house overlooking the reservoir. If my memory is working, I think he moved out when splitting up from his then wife.
