I've bought a few cases online, not cheap at full price but they do discount codes if you keep an eye on the website.

As above, you can get some of them in supermarkets. Jaipur is widely available, asda are also doing 2x4 packs for £9 but didn't see Jamestown in my local store.

I set up my own microbrewery last year. My latest release (a 6.5% Brut IPA) costs me £2.58 per 440ml can to make. Some good beers in the posts above but these offers are basically forcing the little guys out of the market.

Weren’t available in my Tesco when I went in today especially Wouldn’t make a special trip if you’re planning one.

Went with 4x Jaipur and 4x Brewdog’s Hazy Jane instead on the same deal. Will have to get the Jamestown online.

Also got a Brewdog vs. Cloudwater collaboration IPA at £3. If you’ve not tried Cloudwater, it’s next level (Manchester, came 5th in some international brewery awards) but v. expensive so £3 is a bargain. High ABV though so thought I’d just get the one until I know how it goes down

You won’t go wrong with any of those Newclaret, the Brewdog / Cloudwater Collab is a cracker.

I’d also highly recommend Ripe Times, which is a Salt Brewery / Magic Rock Collab and Hop, Skip & Juice by Vocation. All fantastic beers from fantastic breweries, and all available in Tesco. It’s kept me going at weekends when I’ve been enjoying virtual quizzes or get togethers with the extended family!

I took 4x Jaipur with me to the British GP last year but I’d had a few pints of rubbish beforehand - don’t think that’s the best time to appreciate them . Had never even heard of Hazy Jane until the post last night - think I’ve been in lockdown too long and need to get out more because the shelves looked full of different beers last night.

Looking forward to Brewdog / Cloudwater collaboration the most though. I don’t drink until Thursdays though, so 24h to wait....

What's your brewery called mate? I'm a big beer fan, worked in the industry for other 10 years and am always keen to try new beers and follow good breweries

Easy to justify to myself if I need to buy more though: they’re 440ml cans and Cloudwater are generally £4-5 per can so presumably Brewdogs ability to mass produce has made it more accessible.

Tend to like to try these things before spunking a load on them and that’s the whole problem with these smaller breweries popping up online that you tend to have to buy in bulk at expensive prices without actually knowing if you like the product.

Think Elvis Juice is my favourite Brewdog beer. Great on a warm day. Need to exercise restraint on how much of it you drink though, or you’re in for a mighty bad hangover.

Surprised about that. Some of their IPA’s and DIPA’s I find outstanding. Did get rushed in to buying some lager’s last time I was in as they were running low and that was a mistake - not for me.

No, it's brewed in South America. Well, it's isn't really. TBH it was a poor take on Jamestown sounding like Jonestown. Jonestown is where the 'keep drinking the Kool-Aid' meme is taken from.

I've been disappointed in Brewdog IPAs in the past, though I would give this Elvis Juice a go if it wasn't 6.5%. I love grapefruity IPAs, but I try to keep them under 5.5% and preferably under 5.0%. Last week my OH bought me some Brewdog Lost Lager from the supermarket and it's a decent enough session-ish beer/lager at 4.7%.

We're called Shadow Brewing, based over in Otley. We've had about a dozen one off beers and collaborations out to the public so far and most have gone down really well.

Interesting. I'm the other way round really. Me and a few mates all ordered a bunch of beers from Pomona recently and had a bit of a drinking sesh on zoom. Some decent enough stuff in there, but I've never really been blown away by any of their beers. I can't really recall having a bad Cloudwater beer, though. It was a massive eye opener for me when they first started banging out their DIPAs.

Each to their own like, just think CW while good, aren't as amazing as the hype. Take themselves far too seriously too.

Pomona do a cracking annual BA Imperial stout range, each aged in a different barrel which are great.

Absolutely spoilt for choice in Manchester at the minute, Pomona, Track, Wander Beyond, Marble, Manchester Union, CW, Squawk to name but a few.

Further afield, can't go wrong with Wylam, Verdant, BBN...

Ace time for the booze

Absolutely. Love a day out on the beer round Manchester. Or, at least, I did before the apocalypse. At least there's still a lot of good places to get beers delivered from. Had a Basqueland 'Pancake Social' imperial stout last night. Was really nice, but I have to wonder why everyone's pumping out imperial stouts in 440ml cans. If I was in a bar I'd probably only order a third. Either that or share a can with a mate. Just find some of these rich imperial stouts, while delicious, can be a bit hard going after you get more than halfway through.

I'll be honest, I'm guilty for going for the deals.

Given the choice of trying something new that I might not like from a specialist beer shop at £4 or something I know I like from a supermarket at 4 for £6.00 there's only winner.

Always happy to try new beers in a pub where I can have a taste first.

Ah, you're a heartier man than me then I find that imperial stouts tend to get a bit sickly after more than half a pint. The Knott is a cracking boozer. Not sure to what degree they're involved with/owned by Wander Beyond, but they always have a board full of their stuff on whenever I drop in. Lovely stuff.

Basically, the Knott used to be a Marble boozer many moons ago until the couple that ran the brewery got divorced. As part of that, Jan who runs Marble kept the Arch and the brewery, while her ex husband took the other bars including the Knott.

Now the lad who runs Wander Beyond is their son, so that is their brewery tap so to speak.

Wish they would bring back the Ginger Marble though!

Reedley Hallows Brewery are doing 5 Litre kegs for £20.
They have Pendleside and a New Zealand Pale Ale at 4.5%.

Interesting. I think I'd heard something like that before. Been a big fan of Wander Beyond since more or less day one. Their 'Storm In a Teacup' imperial stout was phenomenal, and dangerously smooth drinking at 15%!
