This should endear him to the Burnley faithful.

If Leeds want to stay up, if they go up, they will have to do better than a duck egg like Bumford

As much as I would like to see him placed in Ben Mee's pocket this fop won't get his day at Turf Moor because even Leeds fans know he is not good enough for the PL. The one I know well does nothing but complain about his terrible finishing already.

It’s a nothing article though I do love the insinuation that Eddie Nketiah waltzed into the Arsenal team but it wasn’t so easy at Leeds. A rather simplistic view of things.

Might well score against us but I think Leeds will need better in the PL. Cry babys and toys out of the pram types really aren’t Dyches cup of tea thankfully. These types don’t get a look in. Vydra like others before show if you buckle down and graft your chance will come.

If Leeds have any sense they will move Bumford on to pastures new if they are promoted ,which isn't a given with the form Brentford are in..

A strange and pointless article.
A professional footballer who failed at one club and has scored against a number of clubs in a lower division may or may not score against his former side........mmmmm, profound.

You are talking about the Leeds who have won the european cup 8 times & the prem 7 times & a few cups thrown in, there was a thread on their supporters page just after Xmas that was saying there is not a player in the Burnley squad who would get in their first team. The arrogance of them w——-s is unbelievable.

That is nonsense. There isn’t one of their players I would swap for ours. Hope the players don’t have the same attitude or they’ll be in for some pastings next year.

It’s just a typical Leeds thought isn’t it? Even though it’s years and years since they were in the Prem, they think they are better than Arsenal.

History is irrelevant they haven't won a major trophy since 1992, the lower leagues are littered with clubs that have a proud history, Balckpool, Bolton, Ipswich & Sunderland are 4 which come instantly to mind, True Leeds did reach the CL semi-final's, but in doing so they bankrupted the club.

You'd have thought their near 2 decade spell out of the top flight might have taught their fans some humility, but evidently not, they're as arrogant and obnoxious as ever.

And i note they are facing a big financial penalty if they back out of the Augustin dealhttps://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leed ... -18554038

And people think the Gibson transfer was poor, at least we still have a chance of recouping some money for him, Leeds have had this lad on loan since January, and he's played a grand total of 49 minutes, and now they're trying to cut their losses on him.

These rumours doesn't suggest Leeds have much faith in Bamford finding his scoring boots at PL level. Why am I not surprised.

Leeds United are interested in signing Belgium striker Divock Origi, 25, and loaning English forward Rhian Brewster, 20, from Liverpool.

Valencia's 29-year-old Spain forward Rodrigo is interested in a move to Leeds United.

Or it could be that they are very thin on ground in the striker department a bit like we were when we only had Ings, Barnes and an injured Vokes after our first promotion under Dyche.

When Dyche signed Juke and Sordell was that suggesting he didnt have much faith in Barnes or Ings?

They know he's not good enough for the Prem.

He might not be but Leeds actively searching for new strikers when they currently only have 2 and a kid is hardly evidence that its because the manager does not have faith in Bamford

Was Dyche signing Juke and Sordell an indication of his lack of faith in Ings or Barnes and if not whats the difference?

I think it was his turn to have a toot on the crack pipe.

I think the number of times he subbed him off is a decent sign he's not overly confident of him. And the fact he's come out and said he has confidence in him - always a sure sign he doesn't actually have confidence in him.

Plus the fact he's **** - I'm sure the manager also knows he's absolute bonk.

However - I hope they stick with him!

He may well get his day at turf moor, but I’d imagine by then it will be him watching the game from the bench. If leeds have any hopes of doing more than just surviving, they will need better than PB.

Maybe Bamford's improved, but his PL record up until now wouldn't inspire me that he's the man to score the goals to keep anyone up.

1 goal in 27 appearances and zero assists, suggests that he's not good enough for this level, and Leeds won't create the chances in this league that they did in the Championship, so any good chances will have to snapped up if they're going to have any hope of competing next season.

Bamford will struggle to retain his starting berth if they bring reinforcements in, and he'll be spending plenty of time on the sub's bench.

I’d completely forgot he ever played for us , can barely remember a few v late bench appearances ?Why would anyone give so much as a toss about him ? Probs found his level in the champ as many do . He’ll get his chance to shine ,but Leeds will be destroyed if they think they can play their kinda football at prem level

Vaguely reminds me ( loan wise) of the convicted wife beater Jon Flanagan who never made an impression either

Bamford completed 22 games last season, Wood completed 18 games last season and when we last got promoted Barnes completed 18 games

I think Leeds need better than Bamford and im sure if Leeds can sign someone better they will but the reason Leeds are trying to sign strikers is because they only have two at the club plus a young kid for the future. If Leeds had Harry Kane instead of Bamford they would still be looking to sign a striker because they are woefully short in this area

Im not making a case for Bamford being any good or whether he'll even play and the manager might not have confidence in him (although starting him 43 times last season says otherwise) but Leeds trying to sign a striker has about as much relevance to Bielsa rating him as Burnley signing Gibson had to whether Dyche rated Ben Mee

Not sure if there is any real animosity with Bamford towards Burnley other than naturally wanting to maybe prove something to us if indeed he plays. I can only go off what I saw of him when he was here and he didn't look that impressive to me.

If I remember correctly Leeds were quite keen to take Vydra back, who is effectively our 4th choice striker before last season, and I suspect if they did he then he would have been ahead of Bamford.

As for Leeds, they do seem to play a very attractive style of football and that has done well for them this season. But there is a comparison with Norwich who for me lacked the physicality for the premier league, unlike Sheffield united who do. So they may struggle.

Unfortunately, I think that Leeds will be head and shoulders above what Norwich achieved last season. Bielsa will have them fully drilled as a team - hard working with a bit of style. They’ll likely also spend a fair bit more.

A one downside they may have is that it could take some time for signings to break into their starting XI, with Bielsa’s expectations in terms of fitness and fitting into the team.

Similar to ourselves with Dyche, if they lose Bielsa, it could have a big impact on them. I think, assuming Bielsa signs the Leeds job will be up there with one of, if not the longest tenures he’s held as a manager.
