Isn't it strange how football works?

We'll probably lose by a bigger scoreline than many teams below us have done against Liverpool this season, yet we are a class above most of those sides.

I said when Liverpool were still unbeaten that we would beat them this year at Anfield, only because for them the title will be won and they would ease off. I stand by that.

I’m not sure they are getting their knickers in a twist bearing in mind Allison has missed around ten games. If he hadn’t missed them he would have been around nine in front of our Nick, so would have won golden gloves already. Anyway my prediction 2-1 Liverpool but I would love it if we stunk the place out and scraped a one nil to the Burnerlee.

I was there and when we won there in nov 62 when goals from Pointer and Lochhead gave us a 2-1 win at Anfield. This was Liverpool’s first season back in the 1st div. We stupidly stood in the middle of the Kop which we had never heard of. The locals tolerated a couple of stupid 15 year olds from Burnley. Liverpool went on to become a decent team !!!! Sadly I was not there in 1914

Exactly, that’s why they are frothing. Every time it’s mentioned on Twitter, Liverpool fans basically say what you’ve just said about Allison missing games. It’s always about them
