Today's football 11/7/20

Yes believe it or not there is other games happening today.
Norwich-West Ham
Watford-Newcastle
The 2 early games
Wins for the Hammers and the Hornets will pile the pressure on Bournemouth and Villa, i can't see either getting 34 points, so if both Watford and West Ham win, the bottom 3 is almost confirmed.
Charlton-Reading
Derby-Brentford
The 12-30 starts in the Champ, win for Derby would be helpful, put huge pressure on Rovers later, if Brentford win the pressure shifts onto the Baggies.
Charlton desperate for points in their relegation fight, Reading safe in mid-table, so who knows how that one will play out.

Hammers one up.
Bye bye Norwich.
Was hoping for a Norwich and Newcastle win to keep it interesting at the bottom.

Norwich and Watford to win so that Hammers remain in the at risk and reduces N/C chance of ending higher up than us

Brentford & Reading both 1 up early doors.
Norwich are all at 6's and 7's defensively, the Hammers could net a hatful here.

Big blow for Watford that, and if Toon win they're only 3 points shy of the Clarets, come on Watford.

Shame. This game was always going to be a problem with hoping WH would go down, easiest three points they'll get all season

Norwich have been dire, surely we'll collect 3 points when we visit Carrow Road. Our strikers must be licking their lips at the prospect.
WH are safe, Watford not so much, and Bournemouth & Villa will be praying that the Geordies see this one out 2nd half.
Dwight Gayle scored Newcastle's 2,000th top flight away goals. They are the 10th club to reach this milestone.
I assume this is referring to all top flight away goals and not just PL. I'd inquire if anybody knew the others, but as i don't know them that wouldn't be fair, you could probably have an educated guess though.

Pen for Watford, scored by Deeney 1-1, sets up a good 2nd half now.

Next Friday will be the clincher for WHU. If they lose to Watford they have Man U away and another team who may not necessarily be down by then in Villa at home. The two remaining relegation spots could go the the wire depending on how Friday goes, although I agree WHU most likely of the 4 clubs to be safe the soonest

Let's hope their relegation is not followed by a bit of a revival in their results

I think West Ham will be able to lose all 3 of those and still stay up. 34 will suffice I reckon. Bournemouth aint going to get 6-7 points from their remaining 4 games, they're poor.

Brentford 3-1 up. Game over.
A shame, as they aren't going to finish top 2, and I wanted Derby to make the playoffs.

Norwich have shown nothing much at all. They have some players who are good on the ball but their defensive discipline/structure is so very poor. As stated previously, WHU will never get an easier 3 points.

Brentford are on a hell of a run, that'll be 7 straight league wins i think, but i agree it'll be too late for them to gate crash the top 2.
I don't care who makes the play-off's as long as it's not Rovers.

Wood takes Vydra's place.
Disagree with that. I can't see someone as slow as Wood getting any joy from VVD. Vyds might have done with his pace.
Still, maybe Wood can possibly lay one off for J Rod?
Fingers crossed.

I would prefer them to, which would be instead of WBA as Leeds are up now, but I think WBA will have too much.
Brentford much more likely to drop next season than WBA.

You've always got hope, but it'd leave them needing snookers, and with the fixtures both have, i can't see where 3 wins are coming from, and that's what they'll need really to have a chance.

Can't see them catching us now, although that's due more to our blistering form, than any drop off by Newcastle, i can't see us finishing below 10th now, we might go pointless today, but i can see us collecting 6/7 points from the last 3 games.

Always thought Watford and West Ham would have too much quality to go down. Norwich have offered nothing in the last few games. Villa and Bournemouth look poor at the moment and their run ins aren’t as favourable. I wonder what Villa’ s wage bill looks like.

Finished at CR, Norwich officially relegated, they just didn't have enough about them, to scrap the gritty wins teams like Watford and even West Ham can, if you're conceding 2/3 goals a game, your not going to win many matches.
Watford should be safe now, credit to Pearson considering the mess they were in when he was appointed, he's down well to get them out of trouble.
Villa are indeed on course to do a Fulham, lots of big signings and the wages that entails, and yet they lack any fight, or defensive structure to grind results out, again their goals conceded column is damning, surely SD won't be going to Villa now will he.

Problem is, we might be getting bodies back, but we're losing some as well.
Main thing today is hopefully not losing any more.

Pearson's record is played 17
Won 5
Drawn 4
Lost 8
19 points. Not too bad.
