Have a good friend who was gutted by the late penalty tonight. It absolutely makes up for the one given I think against Pieters for a challenge in the dying moments when we played them away. That one was a very debatable one

At least ours today was not a dive. Clear handball according to the current rules. NES was fuming tonight unlike when he was dancing at Molineux when he knew his team had cheated their way to a point. Bad loser just like Klopp

Agreed. NES did look a sore loser when Dyche spoke to him at full time. What goes around comes around.

I think both teams should appeal against both penalties together - 1 more point each if we do and are successful

There are people on the Wolves message board swearing blind that it is corruption by the league. Have they no memory or thought process at all?

Why would it not be a penalty? The ball clearly hits his elbow without any contact with Wood. He is 3 feet away from Wood's foot and his arm is in an unnatural position (defined as not being his normal body profile) .
Or have they secretly brought in a rule to ban overhead kicks in the penalty area. There were several overhead kicks outside the area during the game. And Barnes dcored that cracking overhead at West Brom last time we played there.

Just to add........Wood took a pretty good foot to the nose from Doherty after the handball.
He just got up and put it away. He never complains about decisions, no drama, he just gets on with it.......Big asset!

No, you would each lose a point for the game that you lose.

To be fair, some of the Wolves supporters agree it was a penalty, they're not all numpties. It had nothing to do with Wood's attempted overhead kick, he was about 6 ft away when Wood tried it and he jumped into Wood so no foul or dangerous play and by the current laws of the game it was handball.

Like many other penalties these days the punishment doesn't fit the crime but unitl they change the rules it will carry on and there will be decisions that go for and against you. Have to admit though, it did seem like justice after what happened to us at Molineux

Fair play to Doherty. He managed to get his feet apart quickly before landing, if not he could have done serious damage to Woody's head.

It was clearly dangerous play by Wood, a flailing foot at head level. What was Doherty supposed to do except protect his face. It was not a penalty.

I suppose we just have to accept the decision and get on with it.

I got the impression there was a bit of 'banter' going on with Dyche and co and Nunes. When Tarkowski outrageously 'fell over' and got a free kick the cameras showed Dyche laughing in the direction of the Wolves bench. My only problem with that was that the referee will know he's been conned by Burnley and if we had any sort of decent reputation on diving it will have evaporated.

Disagree on both points. Especially Tarks. He clearly tripped over his own feet

I had the sound off and was not expecting a penalty from that melee. On the replays I don’t think it was dangerous play by Wood but I also don’t think it was a handball offence

I think 50%of handballs are not handballs. Its become a farce.

I think the photo may have been altered or wood has one leg a foot longer than the other (may be thats why he headed wide) but when you watch defender runs into the position with arm raised , not saying I would not raise mine but if you run into where some one is kicking it may then not be dangerous to kicking player but run the risk of hand ball. Which was given, whilst possibly two wrongs not making a right the one against us when Pieters was clearing a ball when attacker put his foot into him and got contact imo.
I noticed that one of the posters above said about both appealing to get penalties removed that would mean extra 2 points puts us level with Arsenal .

Whether it was debatable or not it's about time we got a decision going in our favour, and the bleating from the Wolves fans is hilarious, they conned the ref at Molineux, we put the ball into the mixer and they couldn't deal with it, hence the handball and the spot-kick.

I read a report that described it as a 'VAR penalty '.
It wasn't. It was a penalty awarded by the referee.
It would've been easy to not make the decision and let VAR get involved so I applaud Mike Dean for that.
