He'd be absolutely crazy to even contemplate going there, and don't forget there's history there too.

I don't think Sean would go for it. He's seen bad run's with Burnley and knows as soon as he has his first one with Watford, he will be gone.

Watford haven’t confirmed it but when they sacked Sean Dyche it took them about three days to make it public.

That’s three sackings from them this season. Why they would do it now beggars belief.

If Bournemouth get another win, Watford would be favs to go down with their remaining 2 fixtures Man City and arsenal

I bet he was due a bonus to keep them up. Must’ve been cheaper to pay him out of his contract.

Cant see Bournemouth winning today otherwise would be very nervous for Watford. Can only think he has opened his gob and said something to the Directors/owners. As we know he can flip

I guess it depends what angle they're coming from.

1. They expect to lose the next 2 games and so are giving the new manager more time
2. They want the new manager effect to take place and for them to somehow grab a point or 3.

They've just reported this on the Bournemouth v Saints BT commentary. Commentators very surprised, they'd just said Pearson would be enjoying his Sunday lunch watching Bournemouth go one down. Or perhaps not.

Well it's been a bit of a "Tempest" there this season but I guess they're hoping that it will be a case of "All's well that ends well".

Given they were rock bottom with barely a win to their name when Pearson took over, he's done well to get them to where they are, and they could yet stay up, seems a weird decision from the outside, unless there's something the wider public aren't aware of.

It's a bit of a comedy of errors but all well that ends well. I'm sure they will get anothello in soon!

He roasted his team on Friday. They might have sent a rep. to the owners?

Comedy club, deserve to be relegated.

Think even the most biased Claret fans can acknowledge the job Pearson has done there, six points from safety when he got there, inflicted Liverpool's first defeat this season and has them currently outside the relegation zone by 3 points.

Seems to have paid the price for an awful 45 minutes against West Ham on Friday.

I expect he will probably rock up at Bristol City now.

Not sure that those stats tell the full story.
The club got a bounce when he arrived and they won 4 and drew 2 of his first 7. Since then they had an extraordinary win against Liverpool in February and 2 very unconvincing wins in the past couple of weeks, (one of those a very narrow one against Norwich).
It's a pretty talented squad. I would think that after the initial "honeymoon " period, he has done worse than would have been expected.
Edit: Just checked and they have 11 points from their last 13 games with 2 v tough fixtures to come

This is why SD needs to think very carefully about his next move.

If he leaves us to go to a club such as Watford, Villa or Palace the odds are that he'll be out of work within twelve months, unless he gets instant success.

He won't be given time like he was with us.

That's a certainty.

Since Pearson took over they've picked up 10 points more than Villa, 11 more than Bournemouth and 16 more than Norwich. They've also won more points than Newcastle, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton.

https://www.soccerstats.com/formtable.a ... ue=england

The second table shows form for the last 8 games, roughly since the restart. Apart from Palace it's pretty much as per the full league table.

Whilst overall Pearson has done pretty well considering where he started, he's clearly not done well enough. I've seen Watford on TV when they've been on and they looked mostly pretty awful and uninspired even when they beat Newcastle with the two penalties. Compare that to the life Hasenhuttl has injected into Southampton performances.

Surely if they stay up they'll need major work done on that team.

And yet it's still not enough of the owners, what exactly do they expect miracles, they were rooted to the foot of the table when Pearson arrived, and they've now got a 50/50 shot at survival in the last week, that's not a bad job in the circumstances.

And even if they did take the plunge into the Championship, they could do far worse than Pearson at that level, he's got a track record of getting teams up. And crucially he'll know what it takes to achieve success in the Championship, if they appoint an unknown quantity, with no knowledge of that division they could easily find themselves in difficulties very quickly.

Better chance of winning without him.

Not what the players have been saying, in fact just the opposite. Well respected by the players at Leicester too.

Still disrespectful Nigel to me though.

That is worth sending to Watford FC!

Also, Troy Deeney said, early on, that Pearson treated them like men, not boys. Odd.

He got a good reaction from the players when he initially went in there, but their good form seemed to have tailed off of late, especially since the restart.

Given Watford will most probably survive this season, and given the position they were in when Pearson took over, I suspect the job he did there will be looked on as a success for him. Back on the map for clubs in England, and a nice big pay cheque too. Watford really are a joke and deserve to go down.

If they appoint a new man today, are the bookies taking bets on whether he will last to the end of the season?
