Share price heading south... Dropped by 20% over recent fears of links to cv19 in chicken production.

Egg prices falling also.

Maybe it's on the cards for Venky's to cut some of their parasites and hangers-on adrift?

Mowbray hasn't been summoned to Pune for the normal annual "" chat"" about setting budgets for next season.

Expect developments here.

CV 19.........every cloud and all that. 🤔

Out of interest, what sort of profit/loss are they making by languishing mid-table in the Championship?

15 points from the bottom 3, which could be less next season (looking at it from a glass half full perspective)

Last financial year a Loss of ÂŁ18.2m which is about the norm for them and basically leaves Blackburn falling off the edge of a cliff. They are totally reliant now on Venky's writing out a weekly or monthly cheque to cover the Wage bill which stands at a staggering 134% of Income. Think the total debt to the owners is now approaching ÂŁ150m.

They must look at the situation at Burnley and despair.

There must come a point when the Venky's admit defeat and it's more about damage limitation, by getting the hell out of there.

You do have to wonder why they persist in throwing money at Rovers, the problem for the Venky's is who will be interested in investing in a mid-table Championship club, who's prospects of reaching the PL are at best 50/50.

The comments on the LET site are comedy gold, they want rid of TM, and think Chris Hughton will lead them to the promised land, Hughton's a decent manager at that level, but even he'd struggle to get this Rovers squad challenging.

The realisation does appear to have set in that without the Venky's backing they'd be in a bad place, and they could easily go down the same path as Bolton.

Really hard to see what Venky's get for the money they have thrown at Blackburn Rovers. The only thing I can think of is that they are hoping Rovers can follow our lead in winning promotion without being the biggest spenders. The problem is that by going at it half cock, they are spending a lot of money but not enough for a proper promotion challenge. It must be that they are hoping for promotion in order to sell and get some of their money back, but there must come a point at which they realise they are just throwing good money after bad. Otherwise, it might be hubris and not wanting to have their name associated with a project that failed so badly.

They couldn't even make the play offs in a truly weak championship.

In a stronger season they might have been battling relegation as readily as their brief flirtation with the play offs.

The Championship is known for it's unpredictably, but you feel that next season will be harder for Rovers, whoever comes down from the PL is unlikely to struggle as badly as Huddersfield have this term.

And i can see all 3 relegated teams making a decent showing, and reaching the playoffs at a minimum, so unless Rovers improve drastically, it's hard to see them enjoying success next season, this year was their best chance you'd suspect, and they were hovering around the top 6 for a large portion of the season, but when it came to the business end they fell away badly. 4 points from their last 4 games, and they only finished 7 points off a PO place, so near and yet so far.

People seem to say this every year, that the Championship will be harder, but I don't think it's any easier/harder since we were in it.

Don't forget that Leeds, WBA and a team like Fulham will be leaving the Championship and so it could be said it'll make it easier for teams who have missed out this time.

There's nobody who were in the Championship this year other than those 3 and maybe Brentford who I would put money on doing well next year, so then you'll just have the 3 that drop from the Premier League as candidates, making it very similar in strength to what it's been like the last few years.

There seem to be quite a few basket case clubs in the Championship now - Derby, Wednesday, Birmingham to name but three.

Aside from the relegated teams (and they’re by no means guaranteed) there doesn’t look to be too much quality in there, as there has been in recent memory.

I don’t really see another Wolves, Leicester or similar with deep pockets and a great squad, for the division.

If it were Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford down, I wouldn’t be surprised to only see Norwich towards the top, next season. Things can abs probably will change but next season in the Championship looks like quite an easy one for a half decent team, to me.

Venkys are probably the best owners Burnley could want for as owners of Blackburn

* completely uninterested in doing anything to make the squad better

* completely uninterested in even coming to England to see the club that they actually own

* completely content to lose about ~15-20 million per year, inflating the money owed to them (now at 120 million +), which makes a new owner hesitant to buy them out.

the venkys are slowly burying Blackburn into obscurity.

The previous owners didn’t like paying tax.
The Venkys are either completely stupid or get some tax advantage from pouring their money down the drain.
Taxburn Rovers ?

Ah well its all thanks to dear old Shebby. T'was he who convinced the Venkys to buy this disaster of a club. Walker Trust must have wet themselves when Venkys came in. Nobody else would have done. At some point Venkys are going to have to make the big decision and that can't be far away. The decision being to cut their losses. Surely it can't be a tax dodge? Or can it?

It is one of the weirder ownerships of a club. What exactly are they getting out of it? As mentioned above, unless it's some sort of tax write off or more dodgy connected with Indian tax laws,
Most others would have cut their losses a long time ago.

Flogging the buisness won't be an option. Not gonna happen....
The rotting corpse of an unfashionable club in a northern wasteland that's been on its arse for a decade... With a tiny, fickle, but entitled fan base.......and ÂŁ 120 million in hock to a tribe of oriental goons?

Dumping the whole shebang and getting out will be the only game in town for Pune's finest...believe me...and you can be sure that cv19 will give them all the justification they need.

If we had a sweepstake on the time of the big deadwood implosion I'd be wanting the "" sooner rather than later"" ticket.

I’ve outlined this before. When making good profits in India then using Venkys London to “lose” money makes sense. Corporation in India is high so this football club vehicle allows them to save some tax whilst losing some money.
However when business nosedives which it is and profits suffer then there comes a point when the exercise becomes pointless. We may be nearing that time.

While its amusing to see them struggle, and shows what goes around comes around we need to be careful what we wish for on two fronts.

One - it could quite easily be us again one day. After all they were far better off 25 years ago than we are today. You never know what might happen, as CV19 shows!

Two - without having them there to play again in future - whats the point? Our main aim is survival rather than cups. With no derbies in the future what fun is that?

I sort of see where you're coming from. But on the other hand, nothing would fill my heart with joy more than driving the bulldozer over the rubble and remains of Ewood Park.

Let them start up again as AFC B**tards at Pleasington. And I'd still want them to lose.

Absolutely. I'd never want them to fold, but I would prefer them to be in a division lower. League 1 would be ideal.

I actually thought they would make the playoffs at the end of the season , they did pretty well given the circumstances, they seem to be making a token gesture signing each season and then picking up frees, albeit decent ones on some occasion, Downing, Bradley Johnson being two of them.

Sam Gallagher apparently ÂŁ5m - not really found the net.
Ben Brereton apparently ÂŁ8m - had a lot of promise but still to show it.

Going to be a strange summer for many clubs I’d imagine

I'm not entirely on board with the tax avoidance theory - they'd be far more cost effective ways than ploughing millions into a football club. I think they're just a bit stuck now and, like the classic losing gambler, are trying to chase their losses in order to get to the promised land again.

If the fans want rid of Mowbray, they're even thicker than I gave them credit for. One of the better managers in that league and when you look at their squad, has had them seriously punching above their weight. Anyway, hopefully they'll get their wish and they end up with some humourless droid like Garry Monk who would hopefully pick up from where the man, the myth, the legend Sir Steve Kean left.

Not sure they were far better off though, ok the ironmonger and his hroud were pumping cash in but they were in debt to the walkers.
Point 2 they would reform as a Bury style club so we would still have somebody to lord it over UTC NNN.
