That midfield would be up the top end of the pitch for so much of the game, they wouldn't need protecting. ;)

I didn’t do the ratings but if it is based on their seasons marks then he deserves to be there but it has been a very poor year for CBs.

The 2nd City goal was even more comical, yes defenders make errors, but 2 in the space of a few seconds that's amateurish. And Varane could have been punished further for his sloppiness tonight, a woeful effort from him in the absence of Ramos.

I actually think he’s a superb CB but he had a ‘mare tonight.

He is in Ben Mee's position, he must have made a hell of an impression over those last few games.
