No, it wasn't. That award goes to Ashley Hoskin's goal at Swansea in 1986-87.

Ace choices here...Great 'length of the field' dribbles. A lot of donkey defending it has to be said. But could anyone else in the game have done what Messi did there? He defied gravity and he bent space-time!

Can't believe Tommy Cummings' goal hasn't been mentioned. He didn't just score a length of the field goal, he had to win the ball himself - it wasn't played for him to run on to - and he started from his own penalty area.
