Might want to double check your travel insurance policy as Greece could be removed off the travel 'green list' imminently. Do you have the ability to quarantine on your return if the situation changes?

As much as I want a week in the Sun, I couldn't have it jeopardise my financial or work situation if I was to be stuck in another country inadvertently and I had to pay out additional costs. Fair play to you if you want to take that risk. I'd put off my hols for next year.

Avoid Faliraki like the plague (as said above) just a mass of brawling bellends.
(Unless its changed, quite a few years since I went)
Lindos is nice.
Greek salads are brilliant. As is most of the Greek beer.
Enjoy.

It’s absolutely mental that we put these quarantine measures in place for countries with less of a problem than ourselves.
Talk about trying to deflect the blame.

Meant to be going to Lindos 4th September.
Had to cancel that hotel though given we needed to pay tomorrow. Booked into a hotel in Rhodes town we can cancel 1 day before we travel. Flights we can cancel anytime before we travel as Ryanair have changed them once so we are entitled to refund.
All too dodgy at the moment with regards to the removal of the travel corridor for Greece hence why I’m keeping it fluid.
Pathetic though as we’ve more chance of catching Covid here.

Take a look at the trip advisor forums, they even have forums for individual resorts and are always active.

The best advice on this thread...in fact I'd go and stay on Symi. It is indeed beautiful. Halki, off the coast on the other side of Rhodes, is also nice though smaller and a bit less Greek..by which I mean it seems to exist purely as a sort of "model" for holiday makers fancying a Greek island idyll whereas Symi feels more authentic. Once the day-trippers from Rhodes have gone back in the evening Symi town , around the harbour, is just a fantastic place.
Rhodes is, imo, a touch too "built up" and touristed. Lindos is beautiful but always rammed and Rhodes old town would be stunning if it wasn't covered with the collective stock of a hundred T-shirt sellers.
It's true that there are strong rumours about Greece being added to the "14 days quarantine when you get back" list. Personally I love Greece so much I'd still go if I could possibly afford it. I've just got back from a great time on Crete.

Long time since I was on any of the islands but two years ago, of course, I was planning a short trip to Athens which was just three days away.
It's a very long time since I was in Crete, just after the Orient game in 1987, but it remains my favourite of all the islands I've been to even though I did nearly kill myself doing the Samaria Gorge.
Rhodes was my least favourite but that's probably because I was taken ill while I was there. We were on the west side of the island so had the breeze. When we went over to the east side, bloody hell it was hot. I saw mention of Butterfly Valley - enjoyed that but they are all moths.

I don't like Rhodes that much. Lindos is very nice but it is packed in summer.

Went to Rhodes town one day and after walking around in the midday sun for a while I looked like someone had hosepiped me down. I stopped at a taverna and got myself a large mythos. That was one fine beer while it lasted.

I went to Falaraki when my sister worked a summer out there the week Princess Diana died. The greeks were absolutely gutted for her passing.
There was a parrot in a cage there on a busy strip that someone had taught to say malaka over and over again. It means W anchor in English and kept a lot of people entertained.

Had a split fortnight’s holiday last year. First week we stayed in Faliraki on the edge of the town at Sam’s Apartments, fab place to stay and found Faliraki not as bad as it’s been painted. Second week in the aforementioned Symi, utter joy beautiful island what a chill-out!

Sorry to interrupt but the mention of parrots reminded me of a pet shop close to where I used to work. They had one in a cage by the door. It never said anything when you went in but you were always asked: “Are you paying for that?” as you left.
