Maybe Sean will cook him an omlette?
Where he goes will depend on his contract. Messi himself says he has a 'Free' release clause. Barca say it's expired. Most likely destination is City as they were said to be mulling a deal even before he put in his transfer request.

Aye but knowing our luck he’ll sign for a team that we play at home, before fans are allowed in

So bored of the drama that surrounds him these days. Used to be a special player in a special team. These days he's just another giant ego in football boots.
Couldn't really care where he ends up, as long as he pays some taxes.

Well if the rumours are correct he'll be heading to the Etihad, if he does and he plays at TM, then he'll surely be the greatest ever visiting player to grace the hallowed turf.
He's getting on now, but he'd still be a great draw for the PL, Ronaldo of course played in England for a brief period early in his career, but for all his undoubted talent, he was still in the fledging part of his development then, whereas Messi has won everything there is too win, barring the WC.

If he has a release clause in the region of £600m+ then Surely no club can afford him without breaking FFP. Man City here we come then

As someone sent into talksport the other night, there's only one thing the world wants to know...
Can he do it at Stoke on a wet and windy night.
Time for Stoke to show some ambition.

Can't wait! Seeing little Messi and little Westwood battle it out will be like watching two underweight pigeons fighting over a crumb.

Messi ain't going anywhere. Its all about politics at that club. The president will have to step down which means Puyol will return as sporting director and xavi in as manager

Italy has some beneficial tax laws, I understand, and we know he doesn’t like paying tax, Plus the pace is a lot slower for his formative years, so wouldn’t shock me to see him there, reinstating his rivalry with Ronaldo.
But more expect it to be a PR stunt to get Barca to install his preferred staff!

I cant see anyone but PSG either affording him, or wanting him.
Undoubtedly the most gifted footballer in the world, but do you need a player who thinks he's bigger than the club. This last week he's come across as a bad apple, unless the media reports are wrong. If he wants to manage Barca he should hang up his boots and apply for the job.

Been lucky enough to see him play live 3 times. One game (Champions League) he scored 5 in a 7-1 win with the most lethal finishing I have ever seen. His dribbling skills are mesmeric, his accurate passing to carve open defences is beyond compare & his vision is 3 passes ahead of his teammates. A real game-changer, the best there will ever be & unlike other so-called superstars a genuine humble and non limelight - seeking individual who brings pleasure to millions the world over.

Greatest footballer to ever play the game, simple as that. If he came to the premier league and played at Turf Moor, that would be something special.

I don’t get people describing him as a bad apple or not a team player when he has stayed at the club since he was 14.
Compare that loyalty to the likes of Maradona, Ronaldo (both of them), Zidane and all the other world class footballers of the last 20 or 30 years who all had several moves to other clubs.
The thing about these players that in many way they do transcend the club and their team mates. Look at the statistics for Messi and Ronaldo - they are insane. Where would these clubs be without them ? They are superstars and the clubs can’t have it both ways - they build their teams around these players because they are so good and what these players say and do therefore matters.
Messi does not seem like a troublemaker to me - quite the opposite. Listen to what his team mates say about him - I’ve never heard anything but great words spoken about him by players past and present who played with him.
If he wants to leave now I’m guessing it’s because he does not want to end his career with Barcelona in decline and not going in the direction that he wants them too. He knows and loves the club better than anyone so he must feel very strongly about where it’s going.
City can afford him and they have a massive advantage over PSG with Pep. I would love to see him in this league and I think even at his age he would be unbelievable. Can’t believe anyone who likes watching football would not want to see him over here.

I reckon he’ll go somewhere less obvious than PSG or Man City. After all he wants the champions league and neither have ever won it, and nothing suggests they will anytime soon. Would Messi improve Man City, I don’t think so. They’re superb going forward and I’d rather have KDB in the free role than Messi, currently. He’s improve PSG obviously, but both Man City and PSG lack solid defences if they’re to win the CL. I’d personally love him at Juventus, just to see him and Ronaldo in the same 11. But that won’t happen. I’ve a sneaky feeling of Chelsea having a go for him. They’re a team on the rise, without any superstar the other top 6 have. Missing out on Ronaldinho years ago might just tempt Roman to splash out.

I doubt it given it is thought he is on Euro 100m a year all told - which is why Barcelona Executives would quite like him to go actually (this is a club whose museum brings in close to Euro 40m in revenue a year and pre covid was expected to break the Euro 1 bn revenue last season
fascinating thread on why it would be virtually impossible for a club to recoup the "investment" in Messi here

I know it's all about opinions but I find that comment staggering. Messi would improve any side in world football. Both KDB and Messi would work in the same side. It wouldn't be either - or. I've long since held the opinion that he will play for 2 clubs, Barcelona and Newell's Old Boys back in his homeland. Times change however and after two cluster**** of presidents hell bent on ripping up the blueprint of guardiola and laporta laid down it could force him to reconsider and if he is ever going to leave Barca, it will be this summer or in a few years when he goes back to Argentina.
Interesting times.
