It’s feels like such a long time since we saw a live match. I’ve got with drawl symptoms this morning and missing....

Watching Sean march across the pitch, and the lads lining up in the tunnel, the chants of anticipated fans, the people who sit near us, Bertie Bee, the burger stand opposite the Club shop, the staff in the Club shop, the turnstile staff, the TV cameraman waiting to grab shots of celebrating fans, the announcer, the big screen, the flag flying above the Bob Lord stand, the sight of thousands of Claret and Blue shirts, the smell of hot dogs and pies, the pre-match pint, the after-match pint, the ‘we thrashed them’ pint, the ‘drowning my sorrows’ pint, the sight of Ashley Barnes doing his glasses (?) gesture having popped another one in, the pigeons that flutter in the roof, the chat at half-time, the sound of the start whistle, the sound of the end whistle when we are one up. I could go on!

Yeah it’s a ten...

turf - 8. Missing away games even more though so they are a 10.

Absolutely a 10 - and I've seen comment on away games, it is exactly six months tomorrow since we played at Newcastle. I miss it more than I ever thought I would.

10 like all on this thread I really miss the banter and atmosphere going to games. Hopefully we can find a cure to COVID-19 and we can all return to our lives.

....... and it's a big 10 from me.

Miss the build up, the atmosphere, the anticipation, the jubilation, the disappointment, the joy, the anger, the comradeship, the fun, the banter, the togetherness in the pursuit of the same goal and of course the fresh air and frozen feet and hands and loss of voice for 24 hours.

All add up to a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Let's hope it returns very soon.

Desperate to get back, so 10, but...

I’ve no interest in sitting in a stadium with an significantly reduced capacity.

1 for me as only go on a handful of live games these days and can take it or leave it. Also found personally the atmosphere of the game sounded better with the fake noise than with the real crowd.

I do hope for others sake that fans are back in stadiums soon as whilst personally I couldn't care less it obviously means a awful lot to many other people including some for who it probably plays a big role in balancing their mental health and wellbeing

I no longer have a season ticket and have to pick and choose my games due to work commitments, but it will be a 10 if I'm answering on the behalf of my season ticket holding wife and two pan lids.

9 for me but meeting my mates at lunch time and the whole day is definitely a 10! Was planning to get my 6 year old daughter her first season ticket this season. Some of my mates don’t live local so it’s the only time we meet up for a beer and a laugh.

Has to be a 10.

11 - if you throw in a radioactive pie for half time

As much as I miss the football, there really are more important things in life and lockdown has just highlighted that, so it’s a 7 from me.

....early doors start to get from the Isle of Man on match days and time with my son..........can’t put a value/number on that......

10, absence makes the heart grow fonder, normally I yearn for the first pint before the first home game about a month after season ending now I would sell my grandma for it.

Tbf Devils advocate does devote a lot of his spare time to Fishing and hes known for being very passionate.

It’s 6 months tomorrow by the way since we last played an away game. Six months since our last day out which was at Newcastle.

Missing away days massively. Don’t get me wrong getting back on the turf would be great but not a patch on a good away day.

Spending yonks trying to park, getting p***ed wet through walking to ground; crowded kiosks; crap beer; wind blasting from Cricketfield end; stupid BLM kneeling and VAR.....yup it's 10 from me

I'm not missing it..........there, I said it.

I'm paying for season tickets and I'll watch tv when it's on but I'm filling my time with other things that I'm enjoying.
Back to work next wk also so will have less time to do these things so week ends will be taken up.
Might not go back, might do but might might not

I’m around 5. Whilst a miss the day out, I’m not the fussed about the actual game too much. I want us to win of course, but losing or getting relegated won’t make me down or whatever. It’s just football and like I say, it’s a day out win, lose or draw, PL, Championship or whatever.

This forum is more than just football imo. There’s a host of topics in discussion. So if someone isn’t that bothered about going on the turf, doesn’t mean to say they don’t want to chat on here.

Just to counter Dick Avocaat's bellendery, I'm going to say 11.

Going to Spurs away, crowded trains, tubes and a full ground- feels like a dream now. Can’t even imagine that any more.

I am passionate about Burnley FC and during my youth had a similar obsession/devotion to most on here. As I've got older I've found there's a lot of varied things I can devote my time to and so Burnley FC isn't the be all and end all for me.

Bout 5 years ago several things conspired at once that mad me go from about 12 games a season to pretty much zero however I still try to plan a lot of my life around being in front of a telly for two hours when Burnley play and rarely miss a minute.

For two hours it still means the world but once the final whistle goes it's done and I go and enjoy another part of life. Had Burnley ever gone down the last few years I'd of likely started going on again cos I couldn't of watched them from home but as it stands now just putting aside 2 hours to watch us on TV fits my life perfectly

Sorry if some don't think that is a real supporter or wants to call me a bell end but it takes all sorts and personally I'm thankful my whole life doesn't revolve around a football team to the point it makes me angry and bitter like I see of some on here

4 hours sitting masked on a full aircraft, or 90 minutes masked in an outdoor stadium. I know which I would feel more comfortable in.

We live in strange times , i long for the day we get back to the " new normal " when we will talk about these times and walk to the Turf will seem as normal .

Honestly can't remember who we played or even the season (I think Coyle but not exactly sure - I drank a lot) but I remember coming home from some $hit game when I was in my early 20s, we lost a game that meant nowt in the grand scheme of things, or even in the grand scheme of that season, but it ruined my weekend in a way that felt far, far more pronounced than any other defeat I could remember at that time or since. I now wish I could go back in time to that weekend. I'd slap the $hit out of myself for allowing myself to feel that way about a football result. I don't know if that was the darkest time in my life or the simplest, I honestly don't, letting a football match affect my happiness in such a way. Some of us have been there, where you have a sort of epiphany and realise it's all completely pointless (football I mean, not life!!! life is wonderful) and I genuinely feel sorry for folks whose days are still ruined by football results. With that in mind, I'm 1/10. Maybe 2. I love Burnley and I'd follow the club into the conference but there are a hundred things I'd miss more were they taken away from me.

well I suppose I am classed by some as a Yank, decades ago I used to be on the Turf religiously but rarely went to an away game, ended up moving away in my teens, work and other things have conspired against me being there in person but has never diminished my support. I have talked in numerous far flung countries about BFC, my passion and converted a few who had never hear of BFC to such that some still tell me they look out for the results even if they are not a dye hard supporter.

Friday I had my first business meeting F2F since March, the first thing he said was, I see you are a Burnley supporter, he is from Columbia and a América de Cali fan, second question was, what league are BFC in, total surprise when I said EPL. I have to go away and learn more about this team, they seem my kind of team!

I do watch on TV, as fortunately we get many of the EPL games on here, and like some others my time gets planned around that or matches are recorded.

I have managed to get to a few matches over the years but all at the turf, have taken my sons who understand but don't have the same passion, have bought numerous things from the club online and sent to my grandchildren and my youngest has had numerous tops over years.

Yet getting back is not a priority, it's a nice to have and obviously a long way/flight so for me it is also a 1 or 2 in terms of getting back on to see live.
