The real story here is that the club has still not been sold amid reports that potential buyers are unhappy that all the assets keep being sold off during the negotiation - particularly first team players. The administrators had said the deadline was yesterday, it is not looking good for Wigan - however well the supporters trust have done raising funds for a potential shareholding in the club

That's a shame. I listened to the price of football pod on Monday and he seemed to think the sales would move the deadlines as the wages were paid but if that puts off potential buyers it's like a catch 22!

On a similar note, I was driving through Carrington to the in-laws at the weekend, and noticed the old Manchester City training ground is now home to Sale Sharks, who were previously based in the complex next door, which in turn is now home to Stockport County.

Prior to Sharks moving in, it was Bury's training ground when City moved to the Etihad Campus.

United train about half a mile away too.

Why would you want a jinxed training ground? Unless you want to build houses on the land in Ingol!

Hopefully it’ll bring Preston the same amount of luck as the other two.

I did wonder about that. Is it unusual practice? I presume the administrators will say they need to sell to keep the club running but, on the other hand, potential buyers don't know what they would be buying.

hard to say, but with the administrators setting such a quick deadline (Aug 31st) they had room to set-up deals but not commit them before the deadline - it depends on how they perceive responsibilities (bearing in mind making sure they receive their (very high) own fees is number 1), they are supposed to be finding a way of selling the business on and returning as much outstanding debt as possible to the creditors - I see one side but not the business continuing - it feels like a liquidation and I fear that at some point that the monies raised by supporters will end up paying administrator fees
