If Burnley FC as a private company decided to issue a large number of shares and become a 'publicly owned' company (a people's club) would YOU buy shares and how much of your own money would you be prepared to invest?

No. It's not a sustainable model for a football club.
You'd be throwing your money away.

Definitely a no from me.
You'll get a better return sticking the money under your mattress.

I'd buy as part of a supporters buyout of 51% or more, if that was a rescue operation aimed at securing the future of the club.
Otherwise I'd only take a stake of a size that gave me a place on the board.
But shares as an investment??

Seriously?

If we were to float in our current position in the EPL, then it would be near the peak of our potential worth .... where can we go from here to increase the Club's value, regular top 10 finishes, regular European football ?
Even in these heady days, that looks unlikely given the stranglehold the " big 6 " have at present. You would not be receiving dividends as supporters would kick off about funds being taken out of the Club, and a relegation would decimate the share price. It's a no from me as an investment, but I might buy a small holding for the " kudos ", or out of loyalty .....
