Thread last week said talks ongoing with EFL to get some form of coverage, not specified which.

Not on tv but the two clubs talking to the Football League to try and stream the game. Sheffield United said it would be for a nominal charge.

£10 to watch the second team go out of the cup, no thank's I'll treat it like the club does and not bother

Is £10 nominal? In my opinion not, unless a few of you were getting together to watch it.... Which obviously cant happen!
I see the need to cover costs/even make a profit, bit surely £5 or less would see uptake numbers higher.
Is it Burnley commentary, neutral or silent?

Same here, plus it clashes with Lancashire v yorkshire in the cricket.

£10?
If we were allowed to attend the price would probably have been £15
I wouldn't say £5 "off" is worth it to watch on TV.
I might not even bother trying to find a free stream

Wasn’t expecting that sort of price. They surely wouldn’t have charged more if we could have gone to the game.

Is it the club setting the price at £10 ?
Aren't all fixtures this round via this method £10 ?

You win some you lose some, £10 is a bargain if you normally go on with the family etc.
Not so much of a bargain if only 1 person from your house goes on.
Either way, not worth getting wound up about.

Price determined by the Football League and is the same for all fixtures. Can see why they've put a proper price on it because most of their clubs are in need of any income possible.

EFL set the fee. £10 to watch a reserve game on the internet, behind closed doors. So tempted..

Exactly! And with all the money that fans have saved during the no-fans period, people are now quibbling over £5!

It’s not exactly an arm and a leg but that’s a silly price. A day pass for Sky Sports through Now TV is less than a tenner and you could get 3 Premier League games included on a good day.

I’ve signed up even though it’s a bit much but I’ve saved so much cash not going anyway.
It’ll be good to see what team we put out. I honestly think this could be our year for one of the cups.

I’d agree with that with the amount of money saved. I thought it would have been cheaper but it’s the standard price the Football League are charging for games and we’ve had to fit in with that. And had the world been normal and had we been drawn away then I’d have been spending a lot more than a tenner.

In an ideal world, far from this one, we may have “gestures” for this kind of fixture, aimed at bringing a little joy into the lives of fans who may be financially desperate, shielding at home, depressed, and deprived of seeing their team. Not everyone has saved money in the last six months, quite the opposite for some, and life is very difficult for many.
So no, I don’t get it, especially as it will only raise peanuts.

Its £10! A lot of us would spend more than that travelling to the game! Never mind buying a twix!
Stop whinging and be happy the club have sorted it so we can watch it!!

Yeah, I wouldn't whinge about it. It's like anything in this world, that's the price and it's up to you if it's worth it. It will be for some, not for others.
Bit daft to get into an argument about whether it's value or not, that'll change for everyone depending on how much disposable cash they have and how much they care about the early rounds of the Carabao Cup in empty stadia.

There don't seem to be any concessionary prices, and I can understand why, as numerous people in a family can watch the game. However, I and many other pensioners live alone and the £10 is double what we had to pay last year to actually go to the game.
Anyway, I've yet to see us make a serious attempt to win a cup game in the last seven years or so, so I don't think we'll miss much. Might be on Hesgoal or some other stream though?

I think I'll (half) listen on Radio Lancs.
Not paying a tenner. If that makes me tighter than a nun's knicker elastic, then so be it.

We'll surely pick our strongest XI possible, but TBF we don't exactly have much choice, you'd think we're due a cup run sooner or later, whether this will be the year I have my doubts, and this is a tough tie, hopefully SU defend as they're tonight.

Whatever the circumstances I’ve always thought we would go with our strongest side given it is our first fixture of the season.

Including Tarks? I agree we need a morale boost, it's been a tough pre-season, and there's talk of unrest between Sean and the board, a good cup run will do wonders for the feel good factor, even though we can't attend yet.

It's one of those few times where I don't agree. We just don't have the squad size. If I were manager I would want fewer games and have the target of staying in the Premier League.
As fans, of course we want to go far in the cup, but I just don't think it would do us any favours.
A deeper squad? Sure. Go for it. But we don't have that and any injury could knacker us completely.

Assuming I was to pay £10. Would it be a quality stream? Are we talking random bloke with a video camera filming by the side with his wife Margaret commentating or camera angles, replays etc? For £10 I expect us to get beat heavily with nice camera angles.

That's a fair point FF, but there's just as much chance of picking up injuries in a PL game, I do agree our lack of squad depth is a concern, and if SD chooses to play a few fringe players such as Dunne and Thomas to give them 1st team experience, I'll understand his logic, even if I don't agree with it.
Best guess at a starting XI on Thursday if we want to protect our big hitters for Leicester.
BPF
Lowton Thomas Dunne Pieters
Brady Richardson Brownhill JBG
Vydra Thompson
But I think we'll go slightly stronger than that, I could be wrong though.

I think you will be a lot closer with
Pope
Bardsley Long Tarkowski Taylor
JBG Brownhill Westwood McNeil
Rodriguez Wood

I've said this before on here but you guys are seriously missing out on a cheap way to watch every game.
Just watch it abroad.
ESPN+ in USA has the rights, I bought a shared login on reddit. If you aren't in USA just use a VPN.
If you are interested in watching all the games, just buy a Canadian DAZN shared login/account and use Canadian VPN as they have all the EPL games and EFL Cup.
https://www.vpnmentor.com/blog/which-vp ... cess-dazn/
If you are cheap like me just look on reddit (or similar forums) to buy shared logins for both DAZN Canada and VPN.
Last season I paid $15 and could watch all the games from USA. If I needed a VPN that would be around $25 with a shared login.
No crappy buffering streams online, no clicking x a thousand times. FHD quality games.
If you want to watch on your TV buy a Firestick, run VPN & DAZN app directly on it, or just connect your laptop to TV via HDMI.

Glad it’s been made available. There’s a recent film on Amazon that will cost me £8 ( don’t go to the cinema ). Would I pay £2 more to watch Burnley ? Yes. Say you were only prepared to pay £6 what are you going to spend the other £4 on ? You’ll be saving that by not buying petrol, a pie or a programme.
