You mean QPR deciding not to take the knee?

They didn’t do it last week either, I’ve not been able to put on the news this week without hearing about all the condemnation.

I don’t know the story to this but we’ve got the likes of Les Ferdinand and Chris Ramsey at QPR along with Lee Hoos who I know very well and I know he would not accept any form of racism at his club.

Deciding not to take the knee.. Is that deemed as racism .?

I still think they should be pushing the 'Kick it out' program which has been running for far more many years in Football. Than all this BLM.
Yes it was tragic, but football has been fighting racism for years with the kick it out project.. but it jumped on the band waggon.

QPR need to be concentrating on their defence to the exclusion of everything else. Theyare going to leak goals just as they did last season.

So is 'taking the knee' a pre-requisite for each and every football match in the future?
Any team who choose not to 'take the knee ' is therefore deemed as 'being racist '?

Looking forward to the result of the captains meeting the sooner you can disconnect politics from sport the better. The kick it out campaign should be emphasised to eradicate racism from the sport. BLM itself has no place in sport.

Since John Terry retired there's no racist players in the league any more, taking a knee is pointless and forced.

Formula one and it's we race as one campaign was a much better idea than the FA backing BLM. If some players feel compelled to do it then fine, but making tradition if it is just stupid.

Sport has a role to bring people together. It owes nothing to global issues created by politics.

So if you don't take the knee, then you're automatically branded a racist ?

I think it's quite telling that QPR, which has a fairly even share of black and white players; has taken this approach.
Re-focusing on Kick it out rather than BLM.
Taking the knee for the first game after lockdown sent out a powerful message and a correct message. Continuing that thereafter sent out a forced message that moved away from it's original point.
I certainly cannot believe that every player at every club supported taking the knee at every game. More likely they did it out of fear they'd be vilified and labelled a racist for having their own opinion.

Is there even one person who was previously a racist who is not now a racist? NO
Have the sporting authorities tried hard enough to distance themselves from the extreme political BLM movement? NO
Has it brought people together more or caused more division and made people more aware of differences? I think the latter.
Do the majority of people who pay to watch sport want politics brought overtly into sport? I think not.

Maybe I'd ask Hamilton if it's only Black Slaves that he remembers with his padlock nonsense. A quick bit of research of both Mercedes Benz and Hugo Boss will show their use of Nazi Concentration Camp "slave labour" in their businesses. Hugo Boss himself was a card carrying paid up member of the Nazi party and his company made the Black SS uniforms worn by their officers. Bit of a hypocrite is Hamilton but that might cost him some money if he protested against them eh?!!

To me the whole point of these protesters seems to be to shame our History, surely the same then should apply to Mercedes and others No?

I don’t think the whole point of these protesters is to shame our history. If the protests raise awareness of the bad parts of our history then that’s surely a good thing, nobody is asking anyone to be ashamed or take ownership of those bad things.

I’m sure that a lot of companies had links with the Nazi party - that doesn’t necessarily reflect on that company today considering it will be in totally different ownership.

Everton and West Brom take the knee. Have to hope with knowing how strongly Ben Mee feels about fighting racism that the Burnley players show the courage to continue to do the same #BLM

QPR/Les Ferdinand have released a statement on reason why they have stopped taking the knee prior to games

And Ferdinand's statement is the perfect response to the BennyDs of this board.
