Generally for naff money too.

School friend of mine was adverting a job on FB many years ago, in North Wales, for an ambulance technician I think they're called.
When he said what the wage was I was stunned, I earned more working for Euro Car Parts as a salesman by a good few grand.

Great programme. Eye-opening TV.

I recently had to call 111 and the ambulance team were thorough and impressive. They asked all the right questions.

My son has been a Paramedic in London for 25 years and has been involved in a lot of incidents. He has a very black sense of humour, never gets phased about anything and can be seen on the Turf, when things get back to normal, taking photographs for an agency he also works for and which helps him forget about the day job.
He is lucky that 50% of his job involves working on HEMS in London and he has some brilliant aerial photos from some of the trips.

The other paramedics who he works with are absolutely brilliant and they also have a wicked sense of humour which helps them get through life.

Quite right though, the pay is peanuts and the flipping between day shifts and night shifts make it so unhealthy too. They should be paid considerably more.

It’s a job I could never do and I admire them tremendously, they must get tremendous job satisfaction when they save lives. Respect to them.

Just recently looked at the possibility of a career change and that ambulance driving would be something I might like and be suited too. Its not 20k to start, which I found incredible.
