How much did that Citeh side cost?!

Over £1,050,000,000 versus £154,000,000

Take a reality check.

When we have a multi-billionaire owner who can buy one of the most expensive teams in the World, then we can compete on the same level. Until then, I'm satisfied with the effort, if not the result. (Tin hat at the ready).

Yes you are correct, it has not been a contest against City for several years now.

I'd backed us to win outright and also for us to win 3-0.

As a backup and to innoculate me against bitter disappointment I'd backed them to beat us 5-0, 5-1. 4-0 and 4-1.

That's Man City. P:ssing me off since 1998.

Depends where you get the stats from. I'll go between £132m and £154m

Certainly a lot less than £1 billion +

I don’t think we’ve spent anywhere near £154m on our entire squad, never mind today’s match day squad.

Closer to £50m I reckon. Even if you add a couple of hundred grand to the young lads I have as free and the odd million to others your no more that £60m

BPF - £2.5m
Lowton - £1.5m
Tarks- £3.5m
Long - £300k
Taylor - free
McNeil - free
Brownhill - £9m
Westwood - £5m
Pieters - £1m
Barnes - £500k
Vydra - £11m

Norris - £500k?
Bards - £750k
Dunne - free
Benson - free
Glennon - free
Goodridge - free
Wood - £15m

No, that's what we have reportedly paid for these players. It's very close at least.

It was around that figure agreed to avoid the tribunal.

Only five million for Westwood? Really?

As has been stated, Taylor wasn't free either.

A lot of guess work at best with those figures.

All taken from transfermarket so not 100% accurate but I don’t think they’re a million miles away. Missed the Charlie taylor tribunal. But even so much less than 154m

I would expect more accurate figures from a QS.

😂 actually the initials of my street. No where near being a QS unfortunately! But based on the QS’ I do know I think your assumption of accurate figures is wide of the mark!

It's not often that's any different, & at 6/7 million a bargain really in today's market.

Absolutely pointless being drawn against them for anybody

Theyl do that to any team barring a full strength liverpool cup team

Should remove the top 6 from these carabao cups

This is the 3rd time in the course of a few seasons we've had the misfortune to draw City relatively early in a domestic cup competition, surely we're due to avoid them for a few seasons now.

It doesn't help that Pep for all his talk about fielding a shadow team, clearly takes these cups seriously, hence why they've won it 3 years on the trot.

Ah! well at least it beats going out to Lincoln, Port Vale & Stanley.

Interesting point about removing the top 6 from the CC, but if you did that the TV companies would swiftly drop their valuations of the tournament.

Even without the top 6 It'd be tough for us to win this, the likes of Arsenal and Everton would have a much greater chance than we would, even if we had a full strength squad to select from.

Plenty of positives to take from the CC this season, the youngsters (Benson, Dunne, Thomas got some valuable 1st team experience, BPF got his 1st team debut to bed him in, and he doesn't look out of place, Brownhill scored a stunner for his first Burnley goal, and Vydra notched a couple of goals.
