They were given a load of money by the FA for developing the ground, but chose to spend it on players instead. Subsequently got fined and are now skint. They are having to field their youth team to fulfil the first team fixtures

I've played there too, many years ago in SDL Prem. They were quite handy then,
That pitch was horrible, levelled farm land , I think and full of sharp stones

I've played there for Teignmouth and Buckfastleigh.

I may have played against you - I played for and also managed appledore in the SWPL and Played for holsworthy in the old Devon league


My mate is travelling down from north Devon to play for them. He was asked to help them out as they are desperate for experienced players.

I played against Holsworthy in the SWL. I was coming to the end of my playing days by then Probably mid eighties.

I might have seen you two play I’ve seen plenty of games down there when on holiday in Devon and Cornwall
